These Christmas Tree Waffles will make your holiday breakfast extra special. It's fun to decorate them with your favorite holiday toppings, and they taste great too. Great for a treat on Christmas morning!
Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour. 2 tablespoons sugar. 1 tablespoon baking powder. 1/2 teaspoon salt. 2 eggs. 1 3/4 cups milk. 1/2 cup vegetable oil. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Green food coloring. Confectioners' sugar for dusting. Decorative sprinkles or candies. Maple syrup optional.
Instructions: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix well. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; it's okay if there are a few lumps. Add green food coloring to the batter until you achieve the desired Christmas tree green color. Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions and lightly grease it with oil or cooking spray. Pour enough batter onto the waffle iron to cover the waffle grid but not too much to avoid overflowing. Close the waffle iron and cook until the waffles are golden brown and crisp. Carefully remove the waffles from the iron and let them cool slightly on a wire rack. Once the waffles are cool, use a Christmas tree-shaped cookie cutter to cut them into tree shapes. Dust the Christmas tree waffles with confectioners' sugar to resemble snow. Decorate the trees with your choice of decorative sprinkles or candies to represent ornaments and lights. Serve the Christmas Tree Waffles with maple syrup if desired. Enjoy!
