Don't get a chromebook, not worth it. I have a Lenovo ideapad U430 Touch that runs Windows 8.1 and it's wonderful. I did a ton of research beforehand. The touchscreen on this computer is pretty cool. The only downside is there's no CD/DVD access, but that's normal for most new laptops. As for security, most new laptops come with something for like a month, but after that install malwarebytes and run it weekly or so. It's costs nothing and has saved my butt multiple times. Hoped this helped!
