mamoru looked at her , confused by her question. they had an extremely simple relationship as a student and tutor , or so it seemed. sure , he gave into her whims every now and again , but ... those were just mere moments of weakness. nothing more complicated than that. " i have no strong feelings in your absence , " he casually noted. " why do you even ask ?? "

"first of all, thank you," kate replied but shook her head at the notion of being cool she simply couldn't see that for herself. but she understood it. "if anyone is cool, it's my dog. i think lucky is the coolest and maybe by association that makes me cool?" she shrugged her shoulders. she just didn't see herself as a cool person. "second of all, that's no reason to actually hate me, for real."

" colin did not remember me either , " she adds with a defeated sigh. at his next question , she hums. her lips pout slightly , her head slightly tilting to one side as she hides a smirk to mirror his own. " perhaps i do need reminding after all ... "

at the question , she cannot help smiling to herself. " i'm not happy all the time , " subei insisted. she considered herself an optimist , sure , but she had her moments. she averted her gaze , taking a moment to compose herself seemingly. " i can be sad , too. often , even ! but right now ??? " her smile didn't falter as she looked backed to calix. " everything is good ... so why wouldn't i be happy ?? "

mamoru loudly exhaled through his nose , staring out the window. time flew in their sessions , that was nothing knew ; but the snow had picked up. now it piled up outside the building's doors. sure , they could probably manage to walk through it , if they were brave enough. it wasn't the safest , however. he wouldn't trust anyone on the roads right now. " only until the snow plows come around , " he mused. " and what to do until then ... as much i could force you to keep studying , i know you won't ... "
