I grew up in Alberta and can confirm it is like a mix of Alberta and Texas. They just elected a far right lady to be premier of the province who was a Covid nut job amongst other stuff.
What the fuck Alberta?!

More! We need MORE! Can you believe they've had this video clip in their pockets and just released it now? I'd like 1 of these every month please and thanks. So reminiscent of the old home videos from the RF! I love it.
I was thinking the same exact thing! It gives off photocall vibes, but so much more genuine. I could watch 6 hours straight of footage like that. With the music in the background? PLEASE. GOODBYE
With everything that's taken part this past year with the BRF I feel like this is what Kesha meant when she sang 'It's going down, I'm yelling timber' because oof I feel it
Lol not a reference I expected in reference to the BRF

Raised Catholic and becoming a godmother again even though I’m an atheist now lol. Most parishes I’ve attended require at least one godparent be Catholic and they request the other be Christian at least. However, my younger brothers godparents were not even Christian so exceptions are made all the time and priests decide a lot of their own rules for their individual church even when they aren’t supposed to. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ some also require male & female; others done care about the gender. Silliness.
Catholic here! I know for the average person the Catholic Church (at least in the US) is VERY specific; you not only have to be baptized AND confirmed, but you also have to be an “active” Catholic. aka, prove that you attend church. However, I’m not sure if the Church feels differently about this in different countries or if they made an exception because Vic is a princess. (Sorry, I know this isn’t the most helpful answer)
From what I understand, someone Christian but not Catholic can become a “witness” if the child has a Catholic godparent. They participate to the ceremony like a godparent would do (they can read a text, pray, and they sign the register). So maybe Vic was a Christian witness and not a godmother? I don’t really know if a Christian could get a special permission to become a godparent but as the Catholic church had/has granted special permissions for a bunch of things, i wouldn’t be surprised. My mom was raised Anglican and my dad Catholic. Neither are religious, but they baptized me and my brother in the Catholic church and my brothers godparents were my dad’s family (so Catholic), but my godparents are from my mom’s side and Anglican. So you can have non-Catholic godparents in the Catholic church, at least in Canada!
Hello all :) Thank you for sharing! I’ve been trying to find the original press release about the christening so I can see the language used and check if she was a witness but no luck. Last time we had this discussion everyone was saying you have to be Catholic. Now it seems everyone’s saying you don’t haha. So from these messages, previous messages, and the research I did the general conclusion I’ve come to is that the teaching is that the godparent should be someone who is like a religious teacher or guide. It doesn’t explicitly say they have to be Catholic but lots of places interpret that to mean that only a Catholic can do the job i.e. how can someone not Catholic raise someone to follow Catholic teaching? But other places seem more lenient. There does seem to be an understanding that you’ll have at least one Catholic godparent- some people suggest one Catholic godmother and one Catholic godfather- but that there is some flexibility beyond that. I also found out it was suggested- although not confirmed- that Laurent chose a Muslim royal for his daughter Louise’s godfather so Belgium may be a bit more flexible on that. So it may not be off the table entirely. I wouldn’t hold my breath just because if I get my hopes up I’m usually wrong lol. But we may have a chance
Did you see Melania’s outfit? 😳 I don’t like her but I think she might of been the worst with that big bird jacket and colour combo!
