Two riots have broken out recently at this brutal Alabama prison
The William C. Holman Correctional Facility is one of the South's most brutal prisons. Located near Atmore, in southern Alabama, the rusty, hulking structure houses 157 of the 183 people serving time on death row. Since March 11 there have been two riots in the prison. One riot of 100 incarcerated men involved a fire left two officers stabbed, the other involved 70 inmates barricading themselves in a dormitory. Why are the men of Holman rioting so much? The place, frankly, is a hellhole.
