hiiii y'all!

long time no see! i took a little break a couple months ago from simblr to play some different games and dabble in other hobbies, but i plan to come back to simblr soon. i have no intentions of abandoning grant and his story, so that will continue first and foremost in due time :)

i am probably still going to be on hiatus for a bit longer, but i do have some exciting personal news in the meantime! my hiatus is extended because after a year of struggling in the job market (post-grad life sucks, my sincerest apologies to anyone else who graduated last year or will soon), i have a brand new job, and i've been busy with training for said job and moving into my new apartment!

a text post to prove i’m alive

hello hello, apologies for the extended absence again from simblr; it’s really a bad habit of mine atp 🥲 i miss interacting with everyone here, and i hope to spend some more time around simblr soon and go back to posting grant’s story again. real life’s just been busy and stressful lately. not to kind of sort of dox what i do for work, but my job was affected by ~current national events~ aka the government shutdown in the united states, and that took its toll. i worked 43 days without pay. the shutdown has ended, though, so i should have more bandwidth for simming and just generally for life now lol

anyway, for real, love and miss everyone here xoxo, and i’m sorry if i’ve left messages and inbox stuff or tag games unaddressed. i will get back to those as soon as i can!

please 😭 i finally had the motivation to play ts4 again, but of course now my reshade is broken

and the entire installation is broken, i think. i don't get the "loading shaders" pop up when i open the game anymore, and the hot key to open the reshade menu in-game doesn't work 🙃

ramblings about my story

i don't have a cohesive post here but man i really wish i could just get myself to finish writing and posting everything the stars promised 😭

it's not like there's a time limit or anything, but i feel lowkey dumb for writing this thing for two years and not finishing yet, and the hiatus i planned to take just through the end of my college career is extending way longer than i wanted because, idk, i cannot find the motivation to play my game and write and post. and then the longer it takes me to finish the story or a certain scene or literally do anything with it, the harder it is to work on it. i feel like there's no point in posting it anymore because i'm taking too long and it won't be worth sharing.

sometimes i want to quit, sometimes i want to race to the finish line, sometimes i want to delete my whole blog, sometimes i wish i had a magic wand to make the story end NOW but properly with the ending i already have planned out so i can move on and do something different. and often i wish the different thing was just the epilogue so i could post the same sims but way more freely and not look at my game like a list of tasks to complete to finish x story thing. i'll never NOT be a writer in the sims first and foremost, but i would like to play the game more loosely instead of it being a screenshot creator.

i am super proud of this thing, and there is way more story to tell, which i really do desperately want to tell, but my brain is broken 🤷

i did the pack tier list i keep seeing on here for funsies!!

honestly, i soon started forgetting which kits were which, so most of them were promptly chucked into the UGH category. some of the kits i do love, though...not sure if that's tragic or not lol

i also found a tier list for sims 3 EPs. it is uhhhh wild seeing the difference in released expansions between the games on paper, i kind of forget about how many releases sims 4 has

oh yes, everything the stars promised is so back! and running again at 2 posts at 8 and 9 PM EST for the time being 🥂 i'll slow it down if necessary, but 2 posts a day seems to work pretty well!

very delayed and minor story update

i kind of dropped off the face of the earth, especially in terms of everything the stars promised! i was out of town weeks ago when the last few posts went up from the queue, and then i haven't really been around too much to update the links and all, but...

that said, my plan is to update the navigation links and also not-tzr-but-also-kind-of-tzr the last few posts, even though it's been a while, just because i'm trying to be better about the whole tzr thing!

outside of that, i'm not sure when i'll be able to post more actual story content. i have about three posts in my drafts, but i'm graduating in may, and i'm down to the last month and a half-ish of college, so i'm short on free time to write and play sims. it's basically crunch time irl while i wrap up my senior thesis. but we'll see - i might drop the updates i already have finished soon, and then i'll post more when i have the time!
