Zeus:  What is your favourite kind of weather?I’m a huge fan of fall weather, a little chilly so you need a sweater, overcast skies, a little breeze. I love the fall. 

Athena: Would you rather be anxious and intelligent or carefree and simple?If someone could teach me how to be simple and carefree I’d like to try that. But I’d probably go back to anxious and intelligent kinda smart. I think it’s better to know what’s happening around you and try to change it, even if it makes you nervous.

Hestia: What is the weirdest scar you have and how did you get it?Umm.. I have a lot of scars, I’m kind of injury prone. The weirdest one is probably on my ankle. I got it when I was running after my friend who stole my french fries, tripped, fell, and took a big ass chunk of skin off my ankle. It’s pretty ugly and I didn’t even get any fries.

He’s legit the only one that I can’t figure out which one he is. He has such strong Slytherin characteristics but also Ravenclaw. However, he is only slightly more Ravenclaw. He’s creative, independent, observant, analytical, and intelligent. Why I thought Slytherin is because determined, a perfectionist, and adaptable but the only thing that swayed me from saying he was Slytherin was when he was interviewed for the World Cup about who would be the starting goalie and he was asked if he thought he would be it. He was basically like “heavens no, i don’t ever expect to start over Price” so yeah. As a Slytherin, myself, I feel like Holtby can be too humble to be a Slytherin.

Willy!

Willy is a Gryffindor! He’s a very in the moment kind of guy and extremely playful. He’s stubborn and won’t back out of anything he has his mind set on (see: PIM, especially from past seasons). Willy, like other Gryffindors, is very passionate and blunt. If he doesn’t like you, you’ll know it. He’s also not very serious with himself and will laugh very easily at petty things (see: Philly fans and when he played his first game in front of his home crowd). He doesn’t care too much about what inconsequential people say about him. Willy just does him, and to me, that’s brave and daring (especially considering the death threats he gets when he goes to Philly).

This is Braden Holtby. Holtbeast. Holtbest. The Beast. The Best. #70 goaltender for the Washington Capitals. He is 6’ 2" and 27 years old. He was drafted 93rd overall to the Caps in 2008. He’s played for 2 of the Caps’ affiliate teams: ECHL the South Carolina Stingrays and AHL team Hershey Bears. He is known for his awesome hair, his glorious beard, his insane goalkeeping skills, and being woke af.

Braden Holtby is the kind of guy you would like to bring home to meet your parents. (Backy’s words, not mine, though I do not disagree.) He and his wife, Brandi, have two beautiful golden and honestly this family is goals af.

So I mentioned that Holtby is woke, and now I’m going to tell you why. The Holtbys, after getting married, went to San Francisco for their honeymoon and they learned about the LGBTQ+ community and left San Fran as allies. They’ve donated blood to the LGBTQ+ community and have made other contributions. Braden is also one of the ambassadors for the Caps for the league-wide campaign called You Can Play. He and his wife along with some other Caps staff marched in the 2016 DC Pride Parade.

He’s also won awards for his superb goaltending like the Vezina trophy and he’s been an NHL All Star. Holtbeast has played for Team Canada in the World Cup of Hockey but was the backup for Carey Price and when he was asked if he thought he thought he would get the start over Carey he basically was like “Heavens no. He’s Carey Price.” So very humble. We love him.

Holtby is very stretchy and does weird super yoga poses to stretch before games and it’s documented. He also does this thing with his water where he squirts it in the air and follows a droplet with his eyes because if you can keep track of it you can keep track of a puck. He also pours a lot of the water on his hair. Anyway. He’s great. He’s the kind of guy you just want to be around, the kind of guy you want to be friends with, the kind of person you want to be.
