I just feel like judblanc is incredibly healing for both parties. Jud is living on the street at 17, boxing and doing G-d knows what to survive; where are his parents?? My thought is that he clearly doesn’t have a great support system or sense of security growing up, so much so that it takes literally killing someone for him to figure out how to manage his feelings and anger. While Blanc is not close to his mother, it is mentioned that she was around, one can just assume she couldn’t support him for who he was, giving Blanc a vague kind of weariness around religious folk.

Blanc comes into Jud’s life and is immediately a strong and almost commanding figure, helping Jud not only with avoiding a murder charge, but also with his general needs (i.e. “I think it’s bedtime”, preventing Jud from turning himself in, etc.). What I’m getting at is that Blanc, in the most normal and non-freudian way possible, acts as a almost late stage nurturing figure for Jud, showing him the unconditional care that he lacked in his youth, the care one would traditionally receive from a parent.

Jud on the other hand completely breaks down Blanc’s prototype of a religious man, of a priest. He shares a religion with Blanc’s once estranged mother; he shares her basic beliefs and principles, yet he is entirely different. He is kind and genuine and respects women and gay people, people like Blanc (and also Jud but that’s not canon so whatever). I think that Blanc realizes this only minutes into meeting Jud when he admits that the church is storytelling. I think that this shows Blanc a new kind of Catholic, one that is honest, one that has not always believed in G-d, but has found Him as a cure. I also think that Jud immediately bursting into tears after that, making himself vulnerable to Blanc, despite him only just meeting him, shows a sincerity in Jud that Blanc is not used to seeing in the religious, one that makes him more inclined to help (or perhaps love) him.

I just think they could fix each other and that they both need fixing.

since you’re asking specifically about starting up ur blog, step one for that is to write something !!! get it to a point where you are content and proud of what you’ve made :)

but i feel like since ur asking u prolly have some stuff or ideas at the very least

posting can initially be pretty nerve wracking, like i still get this feeling of impending doom after i post bc yes!!! its scary!!! but genuinely, just post, JUST DO IT !

what beats out the fear is the joy of getting to share something of my own making and have others connect with it as well 🥹

from what i’ve noticed, the biggest things that matter when it comes to engagement on tumblr are: tags & formatting! make sure your posts are tagged as FUCK, use as many as you can so that your work can reach as many people as possible so they can enjoy it!

people also tend to like posts that are formatted neatly and in a way that’s easy to read & nice on the eyes lmao… i’m no aesthetical legend but i try to make my posts look decent and i hope they are easy to read

i’d say the basics are all you need: a title, pairing, a summary, content tags for what your fic will include (ex: fluff, first kiss, confessions, etc etc), and an author’s note if u want lol. but a cute header can do wonders! (making my headers and stuff also makes me feel excited to post😋)

when i first came onto tumblr yeaaaarrrsss ago, i didn’t write fics, i reblogged and supported writers in the fandoms i was part of and wound up becoming mutuals with them through that!

so i was once in your place too i had noo idea what i was doing, but i think none of us do really, we just kinda.. write and throw it out into the goonblr void…

the mutuals i had back then encouraged me to share the ideas i had and im so glad they did!! and im here encouraging u too because once u start u really can’t stop 🥹

my biggest piece of advice as someone who's had multiple runs on this app: don't take yourself too seriously and don't worry about your 'image'

you have no one to perform for, your blog is YOUR place to indulge in the things you enjoy! be true to yourself, be kind and respectful, and try not to feel like you have to keep up a certain persona or act a certain way to appease others. it catches up to you and sucks the enjoyment out of something that should be making you happy at the end of the day.

set boundaries — the burn out of many requests and part 2s used to really get to me on my past accs, i was terrible at putting myself first and the pressure of needing to fulfill something for so many people was a Lot because i didn't have healthy boundaries established between myself and my blog. this shouldn't feel stressful or like a chore, if it does, step back and reevaluate, take time to yourself to figure out why you feel that way and work on how you can overcome it.

some new general blog advice:

don’t treat this as a numbers game!!!

your motivation to create shouldn’t be tied to number of likes reblogs or asks you get.

everyone wants to find their people and have a lot of people enjoy something they’ve created, it feels GOOD and VALIDATING to know that your shit is well received.

but ultimately, i think treating this as a numbers game is very detrimental to both you and your work because, at least in my experience, it turns the whole thing into a miserable, inauthentic process. i have enjoyed creating the most when i separate the process from expectation and potential performance :)

thoughts on lorna, devin, sara, and casey

i was absolutely blessed to see a new jd AND veronica on sunday (devin!jd with lorna at the matinee, sara!veronica with casey at the evening). on top of that, it had been a bit over two months since i'd first seen lorna and casey, and - especially because that was their first two performances - they had grown into their roles a lot and i have new thoughts on them too!!

i will start with veronica because, well, ronnie :)

lorna courtney:

i think lorna plays up how down bad she is for jd a lot more than she did in june, which imo is really cute :) i thought it was more dramatic on sunday than it was at the sept 1st show, which is interesting

her attempts at flirting are so adorable

her and casey's faces still get soooo close when he says "bag the party, hang here" KISS!!! NOW!!!!! and also after she gets brain freeze & they start giggling ugh they’re soo

she literally chokes on her swedish fish when he says "when mom was alive" HAHAH

at the sunday mat after "wave bye bye to red dawn" she waved at jd but she did it too hard and swedish fish fell out of the bag she was holding (and then cade ate it off the floor <3)

during "got no time to knock, i'm a dead girl walkinggggg" she drags out that last walking and it's SO funny

she was so unamused and wouldn't give poor jdevin a kiss after the chicken bit at heather's house lmao - she did kiss casey on monday, though i was still super high on adrenaline (it was the singalong, i was having a Time) so i didn't really process the rest of her reaction

she still absolutely sobs on the ground upstage center after the "swordfight in her mouth" part of NSUA which is fucking EVIL. this may have been her mic just not going off in time, because on monday i still saw it happen but didn't hear it - but after "you should find a new school", ronnie gets up and runs to the stairs stage left and i just heard her let out this sob and was like. holy shit i'm gonna cry now thanks.

after the first chorus of our love is god, lorna fully giggles as she follows jd across the stage IT'S SO CUTE 😭

she also dragged out that "our love is godddd" on sunday but it was normal length i think on monday?

this woman. is MADE to sing i say no. her voice was built for that song specifically. i am speechless every time.

i think she’s softer that lorna in general, her movements and line delivery are less exaggerated (?) as well - i do not dislike this about lorna at all i think it’s fun and we all know i love her but it’s an interesting difference!

her ronnie is so SWEET. she really sees the good in jd deep down and fell in love with that and she feels bad for everything he’s gone through and genuinely wants to help him so bad, but it got to a point where there was nothing she could do :( god i was so sad for her! (to me the whole “seeing the good in jd” is built into ronnie’s character but, it was really noticeable with sara)

her show was the first one i actually noticed they have pre-heather ronnie’s hair up in a clip lol (not sure if this is more recent but i think it is, it’s not like that in the production photos? lorna did it too though)

poor girl was gonna cry during jd’s speech about her confession before i say no. it wasn’t the entire scene, and i don’t remember the exact moment, but it happened and it broke my heart. her “you promised” was also so soft and quiet and broken omg sara please stop hurting me!!

honestly seeing soft ronnies paired with the scarier jds just makes me :(

her during i am damaged … i was almost in tears. her “wait hold on, not this way” i am never getting over, i swear she had a moment of panic where she was like no this can’t be happening he doesn’t deserve to die. this girl saw the good in him all the way to the end i swear she did

this hasn’t happened yet but i would love to see her with devin, i think they’d make a really great pair

holy SHIT this man’s improvement!!!! he was already fantastic at previews but i was completely blown away with everything that’s changed

he still had plenty of his old jd elements (which makes sense of course he didn’t just completely change his characterization) but he’s so much more aggressive now. like he’s still a little shit but his scary moments are even scarier. it’s so good!!!!!

just before he appeared for freeze your brain, he peeked through the opening in the slurpee machine and i thought it was cute

his freeze your brain has got to be one of my favorites. you can tell he’s having so much fun with it. he does a little dance next to the machine at “there’s a 7-eleven right there” it’s so fun!!!

his little smile after “don’t open a vein” reads as a very self-deprecating haha, i bet you think my life is just great now

HIS REACTION TO MY DEAD GAY SON 😭 it’s genuinely one of my favorite casey moments/from this cast in general and somehow he made it even funnier HAGWHWHA he did like … three twirls with bows (ronnie gets annoyed and storms over to stage left by the second one) and then he did an extra little bow for good measure at the end. lmao he’s so proud of himself, his murder made gay ok <3

i really wish i remembered his seventeen more 😭 on sunday i was more focused on sara and on monday i was just freaking out that i got to sing seventeen. i’ll say that at previews it looked like he was basically forcing himself to walk towards her bro did NOT want to stop killing people

i could go off (and i have) about the speech jd does before i say no about ronnie’s confession. i think it was the moment where i really thought “jesus he’s even crazier now.” back during previews, his whole “flemings not the problem here […] you want to slay the dragon, cut off its head” bit read as him frustrated that veronica isn’t listening to him and confused as to why she isn’t, because obviously his plans are perfect and will protect her and fix society. and while his jd has this mindset, the way he delivered that scene this weekend? he was fucking YELLING. he was so angry that she did that after she already made him give up his murder hobby. i was floored. it was so good.

he is such a meant to be yours jd. his mtby is just so good.

when the ensemble start reading the note he literally SKIPS across the stage to the stairs (this is what i mean when i say murder makes him giddy). once he’s up there he like, conducts them and he just has this wild grin it’s so good my god

this was a singalong thing and i think it’s so FUCKING cute so i’m adding it here: on his way over to the ensemble that night he conducted US since we were all saying that part i was like oh my god dude 🥹🥹🥹

the way he delivered "i’m not gonna let you die like my mom" was so interesting and i think the conclusion i came to when watching it was he was probably in so much pain from the gunshot that he had to think about every word he was saying and that's why it came out like kind of slow and very clear

honestly devin just as a guy is so cute and fun and we had really great interactions at stage door i hope i get to see him in a main role again :)

like casey he refuses to engage with kram before FFM until he’s finished reading his page, it’s such a funny choice

like casey, he also smiles after “don’t open a vein” but it read as more embarrassed that he accidentally just trauma dumped to hot girl i think?

honestly there was something about devin’s jd that felt a little nervous/insecure in front of ronnie which i found endearing, and it very quickly turned into a more manic “i cannot lose her” type of obsession because he’s like, fucked up you know??? he’s never had this kind of love (if you can call it that) before and he can’t handle it in a healthy way so it all just goes to shit.

his pre-i say no scene was very frantic/panicked because he was so angry that veronica risked them going to prison and being separated with that confession. like i said he could not bear the thought of losing her. whereas casey was pissed just about the exposing the murder thing, devin was mad because it was stupid and reckless and they could have gone to prison and been seperated.

the way he sang is first “our love is god” during i am damaged kind of broke me a little if im honest

overall i think he genuinely did love ronnie it just could never have worked out for them because it’s canon and he’s too messed up to have a healthy relationship like that. i think i’m going to class him as a freeze your brain jd? once again, i’d love for him to have a show with sara i really need to see how they work together!!!

I love Alastor because there's so many ways to dissect his character. Being a mixed race creole man raised by his presumably single mother in 1930s Louisiana during the Jim Crow era, being the first black man to be a voice on his own radio show, his asexuality being tied to how he perceives all relationships as transactional and how devoted he would've been to his work, and don't forget how hell has shaped him into losing his humanity and perceiving himself as a demon rather than a tortured soul. But also yes he is a corny edgelord with a fuckass bob who got one-tapped by Adam, and there's no way the writers would intentionally give a character that much depth

as you can tell from my pfp, i freaking love lapis lazuli!! i can relate to her a lot with her struggles with letting go of the past, being vulnerable, and running from overwhelming problems. the song ‘distant shore’ made me love her even more. she’s also my birthstone alongside sapphire!

i also love pink diamond/rose quartz. i love that her story is told backwards, it’s so unique and i’ve never seen it before. i also love that she is a flawed and morally grey character, and her mistakes/ wrongdoings don’t go unnoticed by the characters. i also really like pink diamond’s desire to reinvent herself and rebel against herself. i also love to see the parallels and similarities between steven, pink diamond and rose quartz, it’s so cool to see!

and both pearl/ garnet are just awesome. they’re both my comfort characters. it’s just too bad that pearl’s VA had to be maga💔 maybe pearl and volleyball’s fusion should be called MAGApearl

as for looking for jobs, it's been a rough start of the year for me ( mentally wise ) and i haven't reached out ! im hoping maybe during my hiatus something will happen ( of course, only i can make that happen ! miracles are only a dream for me ) and get my ass out there and get my mind out of my own thoughts

OMG HI I'M SO GLAD TO KNOW THAT!!!!💕💕

And, yes! He does have a little itty bitty lore. I didn't really write anything down yet, so this is the first time I'll be actually talking about it lol.

So, Zach is one of the "emo kids" (tho he doesn't really consider himself to be an emo, he just likes hanging out at the cemetery and what not). His mother language is actually Spanish and he lives with his tía, his abuela and also his parents, who are ghosts!

Zach sorta knows Heather because his aunt is friends with her dad, so she ends up telling him that all the stories about the Undervale being haunted and stuff are definitely true. He sees that as an opportunity to learn more about ghosts, so he ends up approaching Esther about it.

She's kinda skeptical about Zach at first, but resigns when he explains about his parents being ghosts and that he wants to understand how stuff worked for them. (I think she could also sees this as a good opportunity to brag a little bit about living in a haunted place.)

Ben is surprised (and initially unsure) about Zach hanging out with them. Despite taking a few classes together, Ben and Zach never really acknowledged eachother (except for this one time in biology class when they got paired up to dissect a frog and Ben ended up vomiting all his lunch but oh well), so it was kinda awkward at first. But, like everything, that changes with time... And oh boy did it take some GOOD PRECIOUS TIME!

Ben was quite oblivious to Zach's feelings for very long and Esther was absolutely not going to be the one to break it to Zach that the spot he wanted was already taken... by a ghost. Anyway, he eventually learns of it through Ben himself and kinda (keyword:) tries setting his feelings aside for the sake of their friendship. Zach also tries to gets to know Annabelle a bit better (they did not vibe with eachother 💔)

And that's basically it about Zach and his relationships for now! I've been dying to draw the rest of his family, but haven't had the time yet... I might get started right after I finish writing all this, though. 😋

Also, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE ASK!! I don't really have the habit of sharing things I create, so it means A LOT to me to know that people are actually interested in knowing more about my stuff. (also VIVA LOS MARICONES!!! YAAY)
