“Hey, Everybody! I asked Eric, here, to be in a picture with me so that you’d know of this great man, too! Eric was the very first human I met with Jeannie and BJ! He spoke quietly and happily to me right away. It was my first day out of the rescue, so I was a little anxious about all of the new unknowns. Eric was a bit hesitant to pet me until I saw him again the next day. Not because I was pulling to meet him. He said that he was really glad that I didn’t mind that he had a darker skin tone. That some dogs did. I was surprised and felt sad that a person had claimed and convinced him of that. I told him that dogs don’t pick their human friends by skin tone. That that might be true of some humans, which is why they might claim that dogs do this. Actually, we dogs just read the energy of each individual human. After all, we have all kinds of fur colors that never make any difference when we meet dog buddies! We sense more than a lot of humans; so humans don’t always know why we might get reserved or protective around our properties and certain people. Sometimes people think I’m aggressive because I pull towards every human I see. I just want to meet everyone! Eric is just the gentlest, coolest, kindest guy to me. Always with a twinkle in his eyes, he’s also very funny and a bit mischievous. He even asks other humans to meet me, because he knows I’m practicing meeting them calmly, without pulling towards them. And guess what? Now, Eric is almost ready to adopt a rescue, too!! Yaaaay!! I’ve been hinting to him about FFHSA, Forever Friends Humane Society of Arizona, the rescue that took care of me! Because I’d love to see all of my kennel neighbor buddies from there land with their forever families, too!! The world needs more humans like Eric!!
