Online School day
I have what I like to call work mode and home mode. When I’m at work I’m productive. I answer phones calls, I wipe down the counters in the med room, I tidy, I answer texts, I chat with coworkers, make plans with coworkers. He’ll sometimes I’m the one who initiates the plans. I’m bored? Maybe I’ll go take a walk or do stretches. Your child threw up on their favorite blanket? Here, let me wash it for you. While I’m at it do you have other laundry that needs doing?
When I’m at home laundry and texts and messes are something for future me to deal with. All of a sudden those plans I made are a terrible idea. I am the opposite of productive.
It’s not even that I have a manager or supervisor watching me at work. I work nights so management is rarely if ever there. I’m the charge nurse most nights I work so if anything I am the supervisor. Cleaning the med room and doing laundry for patients is not the expectation.
My point being how do I make work mode happen at home? I so badly want to be productive.
Side note: I do have adhd and I take my pills whether I’m working or not so I know that’s not the difference.
