The first roof quote was a little less than we expected (just shy of 10k, which was the amount we set aside), but we do have a hip roof and don't need the front or back porches done. Second quote is tomorrow, but both companies are highly recommended by neighbors (the one earlier this week actually did our back porch just before we moved in).
That small screw? Was the size "holding" our bathroom door hinge in.
At least my husband and I are on the same page about our driveway - this thing is too long. If we ended it where the house meets the back porch, you could still park *at least* 3 cars in our driveway (and we don't have a garage). The back yard is fully fenced in except for this part, so it would be safer and we would have more yard.
OK, I realized I forgot about one available cupboard - over the stove. It's not the most convenient, but at least it's IN the kitchen and I could find some bins that pull out to store Tupperware so I don't need a stool every time I need a snack box. I don't want to have to purchase something new, but that is at least the cheapest option. At some point I should get a pull out organizer for one of those narrow cabinets (I know it's a space thing, but one is enough for cookie sheets, two narrow cabinets is just annoying).

Unfortunately, the new home for the KitchenAid isn't going to work (too heavy for springs on shelf), but we'll see how the new counter space works for us before deciding if I want to return it to counter of find other solution.
Thought to take a photo last night of how an island wouldn't work in our kitchen...

I’ve been researching cleaning our hardwood floors because I’m inundated with these O’Cedar advertisements reels and I’m dubious that that system would work on real hardwoods (and all examples I see are wood laminate) and in the process I’m realizing the current trend in wood floors is to strip them down and apply a light finish to make it look like a Scandinavian apartment and, thanks, I hate it.
