In creative writing we had to take a overused metaphor and, I picked “there was a definite spark between us” and we had to write about it and, I thought my piece of writing was really good and, I read it to my parents and my dad realised it was a male gay couple and seemed uncomfortable said excuse me and, tided up the magazines and asked why do they have to be gay? I live with this because I’m only sixteen and my views and opinions often get shut down or dismissed, and I want people to know, we don’t have equality in the representation of homosexual couples in writing and, people still question why couples “have to be homosexual” in the story.
