Before I went vegetarian all those years ago I was pretty obsessed with the restaurant Chili’s honey chipotle chicken crispers. It was definitely my go-to meal there. Back then my mom and I found the recipe to make our own, and I only just recently attempted to adapt it for tofu. I think it’s pretty delicious! The sauce is what makes it, so it hits that craving for me just fine sans meat.

I need to work on my tofu pan-frying skills. I honestly don’t like to use much oil but I think I should have used a bit more for these. Either way it was delicious. Add some baked fries and corn and you’ve got the Chili’s meal. Certainly not the healthiest of meals, though, it’s literally like candied tofu. ;p

I think next time I will try it with agave for a vegan version.
