MACK WILDS RELEASES DEBUT ALBUM Mack Wilds, formerly known as actor Tristan Wilds (The Wire, 90210, Secret Lives of Bees, Red Tails), is taking the music industry by storm with his debut album, New York: A Love Story, released yesterday, September 30, 2013. Making the transition from acting to his first love — music, Mack Wilds was signed as the first artist to Grammy-nominated producer SalaAM ReMi’s (Amy Winehouse, Nas, The Fugees, Usher and Miguel) newly launched imprint group, Re Mi Fa/Louder Than Life, through Sony Music. The Staten Island native credits his musical influences to Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Lauryn Hill, Jay-Z and Nas, among many others. Pharrell Williams Links with MONCLER to Debut Eyewear Collection Scheduled to make their official debut at the opening of the new Moncler flagship store in paris this fall; the Moncler ‘Lunettes sunglasses collection’ by artist Pharrell Williams features three different frames made from single pieces of titanium. Each pair incorporates design similarities from the french luxury brand in different aesthetic approaches; from steampunk influences, space frames and clean traditional lines.

Some ‘steampunk’ influences are seen in the ‘Lunettes’ sunglasses collection by Pharrell.

The Moncler collection is scheduled to an official debut at the opening of the company’s flagship store in paris.

VERSACE Collaborates with M.I.A. At the Balenciaga show, M.I.A. let slip she has a new fashion project. “I have a collaboration with Versace coming out in two weeks,” the English-Sri Lankan recording artist said from under her glossy black hoodie. Although she was mum on details, it is understood the project is for Donatella Versace’s second line Versus, which is to invite a range of designers and other creative types to interpret the brand. The first was London designer Jonathan William Anderson of J.W. Anderson.

Roc Nation Recording Artist Melanie Fiona Joined Microsoft at The 40/40 Club to decode the new normal for multicultural marketing Media types gathered last night at the 40/40 club in New York to kick off MSN’s partnership with Interactive One. The event was part of an ongoing trend necessity for media companies to focus on diversity, and Microsoft is looking to do just that not only with Interactive One, but also through partnerships. Interactive One’s chief content officer Smokey Fontaine spoke to the crowd about how the company evolved over the years to keep in line with America’s changing demographics. “We changed our focus from being solely African American to… all of the folks who demographically and psychographically are part of the multicultural landscape.” Why? “Companies have no choice but to serve multicultural. If you want to stay relevant, you have no choice but to serve that market. But you do have a choice whether you’ll serve that market really well.” Census data shows that minorities will be the majority in the near future, and Pew continues to document how little change there is in terms of minorities in the newsroom. Roc Nation recording artist Melanie Fiona capped off the evening with a special live performance that kept the high profile industry leaders on their toes.
