what's Brideshead Revisited and should I watch/read it (and is it gay)?
It’s a book by Evelyn Waugh, which was made into a fantastic tv show in 1981 by Granada television and a pretty but imo badly-adapted film in 2008. I’ll try not to spoil it but whilst it’s not as explicit as, say, The Song of Achilles, there are clear gay/bi characters and a central romance. Some people have tried to write it off as just bros being bros but their relationship is literally called ‘romantic’ by characters in the book, you’d have to have your heteronormativity goggles turned to the absolute max not to see it. The book is one of my favourites and it’s not too long so I’d definitely recommend it, but if you don’t have time then do check out the tv series because it’s beautiful.
