I used to be OBSESSED with yosakoi. I would watch hours of videos! My favorites were Honiya because the music was always upbeat, and dances with little kids because it was super cute.

Recently, I came across a new yosakoi video and it made me really happy! I even recognized the street they were in.

Honiya (ほにや) is one of the oldest and most successful yosakoi teams. They won the grand prize this year and last year in Kochi.

Check out their official 2016 promotional video. This was all shot at the Yosakoi Festival in Kochi back in August.

Congratulations to Honiya (ほにや) on winning the grand prize for the second year in a row at the 63rd annual Yosakoi Festival (よさこい祭り) in Kochi!

Watch them perform in one of the many parades at the festival.
