Never mind the fact that speaking with the elders is the last thing he would ever want to do. Though forgiveness is something he’s tentatively and shakily embraced, he can’t help but feel that looking upon any others of their clan would bring forth an old feeling of familiar bitterness.

It was difficult enough to face Hanzo. The rest of their family, their clan, will have to wait longer. Nevertheless, he doesn’t sounds cross or even annoyed, really. Understanding, perhaps. If anyone could understand, it would be him.

And in the same vein, he bows his head somewhat, and turns it away.       “ If you do not wish to speak of it, I understand. ”

    that’s exactly his intention. he’s standing at the edge of their table, the cake already set down on the edge and a knife poised to cut into it. he pauses just long enough to look at his clone and allows a slow smile to creep onto his face. it’s supposed to be sincere, but his gaze holds only mischievousness, a quiet fuck you. for what? well. let’s just say that hanzo isn’t the oldest one at the table here.

“    nonsense, ” he chirps, cutting into the single layer cake with ‘congrats on “raising” the bar! :)’ written on it in japanese. “ you know i only want to support my family! and encourage growth! and happiness! would you like the first slice, sir? ” the question was directed at iki’s date, the fuck you amped up as their gazes met.

    his return is marked only by the on-base ai, who dutifully kept her silence upon his request - at least for a couple of days, or until a head count is required, is what they agreed on. honestly, smart ais are such a blessing. he’d been gone longer than he planned to, though perhaps purposefully postponed his boots meeting overwatch perimeters.

    acid trapped in his throat, dripping down and digging into his gut with claws so unforgiving. he’s not ready to be back. but he can’t keep up this habit of running, even though he wants to. thought time and time again about bailing, yet here he is.

    day two after his return, there’s a knock at iki’s door, though all that’s outside is a silver two pound bag, marked simply as  ‘jasmine pearls’.
