Am I going to write my 10,000-word honours dissertation about Terry Pratchett, purely because I was repeatedly told I couldn’t write essays about him in high school because his works weren’t “academic or literary enough”? Yes. Yes I am.

And that’s a wrap
Now that my honours year is over, this will be my last post on this blog. It’s been a hectic year; literal blood, sweat and tears were shed, but I don’t regret doing this at all. I was given the opportunity to write a dissertation in an area I was greatly passionate about, guided by the most chill supervisor ever. I have made friends with the coolest and most passionate and supportive group of people. It has been an invaluable experience and I’m happy to say that I will be graduating with a Bachelor of Health Sciences degree, first class honours, from the University of Auckland.
Thanks to those of you who have been following me this year (many of you fellow public health students), despite my limited updates on here. Good news is that I was accepted into Auckland’s medical school a couple of days ago, and I’ll be posting on https://chooliastudies.tumblr.com/ now as a medical student, if you were interested in seeing what I got up to from now.
My studies in the public health field during the last four years have made me who I am today, and I will ensure that I apply all that I have learnt in whatever I do. I wish you all well with your studies xx
I’ve been useless at keeping this blog up to date, but I found out that I got an A on my dissertation a few days ago! Despite how much of a horror show 2016 has been, for me, it’s been one of the best years of my life. I’ve accomplished and learnt so much. Congratulations to those of you who have also finished writing this year! For those of you still writing, good luck and hang in there. “It always seems impossible until it’s done.”
Oops
31/08/16 Hahaha funny how I neglected updating this blog. Basically I was overwhelmed during my first semester with classes and tutoring, I didn’t really get to focus on my dissertation much at all. Here I am now, with a little over 2 months to go.
I might make a post with all the milestones for my dissertation. Yes, that’ll help me organise my thoughts as well.
Hello Friend!
I need your help. I have a survey for my honours dissertation and would love to hear what you have to say! It is a survey about horror, horror video games and fears. It will only take 10-15mins of your time, and there is tons of pictures! Woo hoo!
Ages 18+ please, images contained within are all commercially available or off the internet. Little bits of video game gore, mostly fine.
I would really appreciate you taking the time to fill this survey out, it would help me out a lot! Thanks in advance, and I hope you enjoy it.
01/02/2016 Ahh my supervisor emailed saying we should meet to discuss my dissertation topic soon, and I’m just sitting here, a swim away from China. Can’t wait to get back to Auckland.
