Day 19

Wrote/formatted the citations for my senior sem essay

Revised senior sem essay

Submitted senior sem essay!

Ordered my transcript (why do I have to pay for my grades? They're mine, and I already paid for them when I took the class?)

Finalised and submitted my study abroad application

General around the house stuff--laundry, shower, tidying up

Did a little bit of yoga w my siblings

Worked on my reading journal (I need to write my April entries bc I read but I've not written about it yet)

I also created the documents for my other two finals, but I didn't actually write anything. Tomorrow, I need to return my books, work on my last assignments, and start figuring out my honours thesis readings...

This little guys is always by my side when I’m studying or just hanging out. It’s always comforting to hear him purring away as I have late nights studying.

Two midterms tomorrow and a meeting with my program chair about my honours thesis and another outreach project for my program! It exciting to see things coming together. These last two years are going to be the best - I’ll make it so.

Yo, you plan on creating a language??? That's so cool!!!

Yep! I mean, I’ve already got a good bit of one made for my books (grammar and some lexicon) and like a dork, I’ve translated some songs and stuff into it for fun. But for my thesis it will be less me messing around and a lot more focused on making choices informed by research than the one for my books is - although I’m probably going to call this one for my sci-fi show.

Aaaaaaand I'm done!

I think the viva meeting went alright, overall seemed pretty positive and no crazy hard questions.

My supervisor said he thought one of the assessors was a bit harsh, but I should still be set up for good marks overall.

Seriously though, I do not recommend reading your printed thesis after submitting it. Unless you want to spend the whole time cringing over all the mistakes that are much more noticeable on paper 😬 holy crap do I wish I'd had more time to proof read and fix formatting errors. But such is life.

My project for the last few days has been getting a start on reading sources for my thesis next year... Featuring lots of complaining about Terry Eagleton (derogatory)

But today I've been doing a lot of cooking, since my mother's request for mother's day was not to cook... So instead the eldest daughter does it 🤨
