@dozy-insomniac submitted: Found this little cutie snoozing on the wall outside my front door! The wing patterns are so pretty🦋 Found in Ljubljana, Slovenia
Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang look at those wings! What a beautiful pattern. And my first submission from Slovenia, I think! Very exciting. Anyhoo this fine lad is a buff arches moth from the Drepanidae family which has some pretty neat moths. We have one in the US that looks just like this dude called the lettered habrosyne. The family also includes the hooktips which can be super funky-lookin’. Check out this pal:

Hooktip Moths (Oreta cf. extensa, Oretinae, Drepanidae) A beautifully fresh pair of hooktips discussing the next intimate step. The neighbouring curled leaf contained a recently vacated cocoon, so the assumption would be that the female (the larger of the pair at the top of the image) has recently eclosed and been detected by the more-likely-to-be-roaming male. I left them to their amorous introductions and negotiations about meeting each other's parents...... by Sinobug (itchydogimages) on Flickr.
