Hootsuite Module 4/Client Project Step 4
Hootsuite’s 4th module for our Social Media and Emerging Technologies course was all about building brand advocacy and community. It taught us how to successfully build a community using social media both online as well as in person. Two of the most important things a company can do that would help them with their advocacy and community is to grow their social media audience and engage with this audience. This includes allowing people to comment and give opinions on posts, responding to people, and letting the audience interact with each other. My client, already has great advocacy as they have a lot of loyal customers that come back to their events regularly, and spread information and positive reviews about the company by word of mouth. This has drawn many to add themselves to their audience and have a positive reception of them. However, this does not mean there is no room for improvement. While their face-to-face community and advocacy is very well established, online it could use some assistance. They do have a community page set up on their Facebook to allow for the community to engage with each other, but other sites they aren’t very active. I look forward to taking the strategies and ideas in the Hootsuite Module 4 and applying it to their Instagram and Twitter pages to help grow their community even more online.
