Nita Strauss - Hope Grows (2018)
Even though this is a slower song, it may be my favorite on the new album.

“Hope Grows” by Nita Strauss
This was a surprise on the album - a slow, melodic song with piano and acoustic guitar and what sounds like a fairly clean electric. The melody is actually kind of soothing.

Little bit about it:
Hope Lives for Today. Hope Grows for Tomorrow. Hope Grows is the work of three years of song writing by music therapist, Amy Schaack, with hospice and cancer patients and their caregivers at Gundersen Lutheran Health System in La Crosse, Wisconsin. The songs were inspired by hospice and cancer patients and their caregivers. Each song began either as a poem, personal interview, group discussion, journal entry or letter. Amy worked with each individual to create the idea for the song including melody, style of music and tempo. The array of music heard on Hope Grows is to accompany the diverse stories and to best capture the personality and preference of each writer. Amy works with patients and their families to provide an outlet to express their thoughts and feelings through singing, music making, lyric discussion and song writing. Each song on Hope Grows shares a message about love, appreciation, faith and hope from patients, caregivers and friends of those who have experienced cancer or a life-threatening illness. Their stories and legacies are captured through country, rock, folk and pop styles, each as unique as the individual who inspired each song.
