Little Wonders - Rob Thomas
Let it go, let it roll right off your shoulderDon’t you know the hardest part is over?Kahoko sat sobbing quietly at the end of her friend’s funeral, feeling sad that she would never see them again but feeling relief that the murderer had been brought to justice at long last. It gave her closure and for that she would forever be in the debt of Miles Edgeworth. He had been the prosecuting attorney and had refused to give the criminal any opportunity to get away with the heinous deed of murder. He truly was a magnificent lawyer, rebutting each and every ground of justification until the court had no other option but to award a guilty verdict.
And I don’t mind if its me you need to turn toWe’ll get by, it’s the heart that really matters in the end…Miles had decided to attend the funeral as well and cautiously approached her from behind to lay a comforting hand on her shoulder. They had become quite close throughout the whole ordeal and Kahoko would even go as far as to say they had developed a bond of friendship.
Turning to face him slightly with a tear-streaked face, she gave him a half-hearted grin.
"Thank you."
It was a quiet murmur but he was standing close enough to hear her even so, the words meant for both his role in getting justice for her friend and being there as moral support.
Miles gave her a light squeeze on the shoulder. He didn’t speak any words but then there was no need to.
Our lives are made in these small hoursThese little wonders, these twists and turns of fateTime falls away but these small hoursThese small hours still remain….
