Captured him? Reiner felt like he was being interrogated right now, he didn’t capture him! He wasn’t even aware they had taken a prisoner until Zeke casually brought the Commander over to him and Bertholdt....he wasn’t aware they were taking a prisoner so how should he know what the War chief wanted with him.
“You don’t think I know that? The whole reason we came to this damn Island was to get the coordinate! So why the hell did Zeke even capture you?! To torment me!? Hell if I know! It’s not like I asked him to capture you, do you think I just missed you or something?” his head was spinning, even he was trying to make heads and tails of it....what did Zeke want with Commander Erwin?
It had to be to lure the others back....though he would have taken a guess that they would have come anyways! The damn basement was over here, why wouldn’t they come ? It’s the one damn thing keeping the Survey Corp afloat, the only reason their regiment wasn’t disbanded....was because of the basement and what could be inside.
.....Is Zeke messing with me? Does he resent me that much? Is he that disappointed that he thinks having Erwin around is amusing? And why me? Why ask me to watch him?
“.....Stop....” the blond muttered repeatedly, staring down at the ground his eyes wide as he moved his hand to grip at his head, flinching only when he heard the other move and quickly regretted it as he made eye contact with his former Commander. For some reason....he couldn’t talk when he made eye contact with the other blond...why? What was it about them that just choked every word out of him? Why did his mind spin, thousands of words, memories of what he’d done and what he still needed to do....it was all to much, if he didn’t get away now he’d be driven insane....he’ll lose it.
It...makes sense? What made sense? What was he talking about??
“.....W-what....what do you....mean it makes sense?” he asked completely disoriented “ Nothing...nothing makes sense, what the hell do you mean it makes sense?! What do you know that I don’t? You think you can just read my mind by looking into my eyes?!” he snaps at Erwin clenching his fists so tight his knuckles pale, and his nails dig into the palm of his hands drawing blood.
Erwin frowned slightly, so this was real then, this man before him was really him....the questions was how and why were they here. What were they doing before to end up in his office so suddenly.
" I'm inclined to believe you....I see no reason why you would lie to me." it wasn't like he gained anything from it and he was willing to gamble on the fact that this man is perhaps from his future....if his missing arm wasn't a dead give away already.
" We are currently preparing for our 57th expedition, something tells me you already know the details of this expedition but I'll go over it briefly regardless as a refresher. We are plotting a course from Karanes District to Shinganshina District....we expect to have a surprise guest visit Eren while on our expedition." he informed the other before standing, placing both hands on the desk as he pushed himself up and out of his chair.
" Something however tells me you're well aware who this person is, and what will happen during this expedition....the real question is whether or not you're able to share this information with me...or if you're perhaps sworn to some kind of secrecy."
Jean slowly lowered his hand but remained standing there in silence as he heard the Commander wheeze out his words, it was clearly a struggle for him to even keep himself awake like this to talk to him...the man needed rest but it seemed like he was refusing to close his eyes because he was scared of being alone. He could see it in his eyes, it’s a look many of the Scouts had after an expedition or during their last moments, that fear of dying alone with no one around....is this what Marco felt too?
“ The mission was a success, Wall Maria has been plugged and the titans that were left inside are slowly being handled as we speak.” Levi reported for Erwin knowing the other was on the verge of passing out unable to keep themselves awake...why they continued to fight it was beyond him, he was safe and he’d recover faster if he just let himself rest “ As for the basement it had books about the outside world that Grisha Jeager himself wrote, detailing technology we’ve yet to discover...seems we are behind compared to the vast world beyond the walls. I’ll give you the books to look over later, right now you should rest.” the Captain continued before Floch spoke up suddenly.
“ You’re lucky I brought you over to the Captain and Section-Commander when I did, you know I’m the one who really found you sir. Jean wouldn’t have even known you were alive if I didn’t bring you to that roof.” the man would practically boast causing Jean to just glare over at him.

Jean kept repeating to himself but the longer Floch spoke the more irritated he became, his fists clenching tightly until his knuckles turned white his eyes narrowing like a wild animal.
So this prick found him first and left him to die there? And now he wants to gloat about how he found him first?
“ I mean without me dragging you up there you would have died anyways-” Floch continued before grunting as he was suddenly pinned to the wall by Jean and found himself looking into the eyes of the livid man “ Ughh- What the hell’s your pro-” he started but was cut off by a punch to the face, yeah so much for keeping composed.
“ So you just left him there?! Who gives a shit if you brought him to that damn roof when you just left him there to die! You stupid asshole what do you want some medal for your half ass attempt to save someone’s life?!” he practically screamed already feeling hands grabbing at him to pry him off of the other....there it was, he could already hear the scouts behind him telling him he was overreacting...these assholes.
“ Shut up! You’re all no different from him! “ he snapped letting Floch go before smacking the hands of him to glare at the others, specifically Mikasa and Eren and pointed at them, his hand shaking in anger “ You blatantly ignored my cries for help! Mikasa I saw you turn your head slightly before choosing to ignore me! You’re so focused on your close friends you don’t think about your other allies but hey so long as Armin and Eren are fine screw the rest of us right?!” he continued and looked to Eren before he could try and defend Mikasa “ You claim you want to save everyone but you can’t set aside your emotions when the time comes for it! Captain Levi wanted to give the serum to Commander Erwin but you went on crying about how you and Armin haven’t seen the damn sea!! Are you fucking serious?! Was that the best you could come up with?! You couldn’t even bring up a valid reason to choose Armins life over the Commanders!”
“ And where were the rest of you?! Not a single one of you went to pay the Commander your respects, were you all that bitter from that charge?! You think any human being wants to lead a bunch of soldiers to their death like that?! Take a good look at him! The guilts written all over him! I don’t recall the Commander ever leaving a soldier to die alone so why is it when he’s dying you all just vanish?! Why was I the only one there to hear him?!” His hand lowered but it was clearly he was shaking with rage “ And I’m supposed to put my trust in my comrades....and why should I? YOU’D ALL JUST LEAVE ME THERE TO DIE YOU’RE ALL A BUNCH OF DAMN COWARDS!! SELFISH ASSHOLES WHO’D USE THE DEATH OF THEIR COMRADES JUST TO ESCAPE DEATH ONE MORE DAY AND I’M ASHAMED TO EVEN BE FIGHTING ALONGSIDE YOU!”
Breathing heavily Jean glared at the other Scouts who just got quiet, after a moment of silence Jean would frown “.....Can’t even speak up and tell me I’m wrong. You’re lucky Commander Erwins alive....” he said furrowing his brows “ If he had died I would have left the Scouts without a second thought....I wouldn’t lay down my lives for any of you selfish bastards.”
This guy made him uncomfortable....of all the guys for them to capture.....why'd it have to be the damn Commander of the Survey Corps? Zeke sure loved to torment him....and the fact he left him to guard his former Commander....fuck....
" Yeah well......if you're trying to make me feel better....don't, I know you always have a plan up your sleeve but whatever it is don't bother. You already know I can shift into a titan, and if I wanted to I could just kill you now."
No, he didn't trust this man. He was far to cunning.....what terrified him was another close call with Captain Levi, his eyes shifted nervously around at his surroundings before looking back to the Commander.....those pale icy blue eyes....it's as if he were seeing right through him.

"Well someone's awfully optimistic this morning....." the Captain muttered a little as he glanced over to the blond as they'd move to stand beside him, how the hell did this man have such 'positive' attitude so early in the damn morning?
"....you're not wrong, bad things can't last forever." but no one ever said that they'd be alive to see the good, only time would tell. Best to keep that thought to himself though, no reason to ruin someone's morning....even if his was ruined the moment Connie woke up and started talking so damn loud....
