Let’s talk about misuse of the “Pair the Spares” trope
Look. I’m all for themes in romance, and I’m all for characters matching vibes and sudden twists shoving them together.
DCG is screwing it up royal, however. Yes yes, I know, we could go on and on about Phoebe and masks, and what it means to be scary, and how she and Elijah have the whole “Fire and plants” thing going on, but come on? Where’s the chemistry? Where’s the drama! They’re just kinda nice to each other.
Are you telling me that two of the most dangerous people at the Gala are SHY? Elijah danced on a table and Phoebe has no problem threatening peoples lives. This is an obvious example of something going wrong in the writing room and them scrambling to give people romantic ending as the finale approaches.
Tiny Adventures isn’t canon and I do not accept the “Elijah with a flaming crown” as foreshadowing. He was off his rocker and the fire spirit was just looking for something to do.
They need to stop being cowards. Elijah belongs with Sekhet-Re and Phoebe needs grab Sam and drag him to the altar. No, I don’t care that he lied to her. Yes, I think she will get over it. They’re fairies. I don’t know why everyone’s shocked about a few fibs.
