Every time she sees a section of the city overwhelmed by the emotion-sucking sphere of Wraith influence, she wonders if it'll be the battle that ends someone. If the Wraiths will win, once in a while, and take someone with them. A pessimistic analysis based on the one inevitable truth that Noriko has understood for far too long, that everything ends, even the brightest Magical Girls. Especially the brightest Magical Girls.
Still, today was not the end of Madoka's days. And that was..."good".
Knowing the girl met with success and would still be alive to answer any summons, Noriko went for her phone, scrolling to find Madoka's number and entering their meager message history. A few emojis from Madoka, and a thumbs up emoji in response from Noriko, just to confirm they were texting the correct respective phone numbers.

She put the phone down, fully expecting Madoka not to answer for some time. Still, she sat and stared at the now-former center of Wraith influence. The pink brilliance that destroyed it was long gone. The darkness had disappeared. It was as if nothing had happened. How many times has the loop of Wraith invasion and defeat occurred?
