Rachel does what we all wish we could do when the comics decide to bring the Phoenix back again.
Basically. She’s got this shit figured out, yo.

Cable also wasn’t wiped out during the Phoenix thing, until they tried to use him later. Maybe some people are just more sensitive to Phoenix stuff than others (though you would think that Cable would be one of the sensitive ones).
Right? I mean...okay, I guess I could be nice and give the writers the benefit of a doubt and go with the “everyone reacts differently” excuse, but it smells a bit of lazy writing to me. If the friggin’ Phoenix is wreaking havoc on even the heaviest hitter psychics, then it should have thoroughly wrecked lower level psychics. But then again, it could be that the stronger ‘paths are generally more sensitive to aberrations and therefore more seriously affected.
Personally, I subscribe to the theory from that one waitingforthet comic about this topic, where Rachel was like, “Oh, no, the Phoenix is back! I feel weak!” And then she just farts off to, like, go eat ice cream and watch Netflix in peace or something.
Just spoke to Anka. Bo is Chinese, I called it right all these years but she was 9! He considered 9 a very little chikd though.
Jono was at the wedding! Caught him sitting in an aisle seat. I bet he was one of the first to leave after the awkwardness.
@fangedfirecracker had me take another look, and sure enough, there he was! He was also at the rehearsal for some reason. My guess is because Jubilee was there and she threatened him HE WENT TO SHOW SUPPORT.
Agreed he was one of the first to split, though. I didn’t spot him anywhere at the reception. Soon as the wedding he was dragged to fell through, he noped out of there like, <>“But--”<happy gets awkward for me. I’m not dealing with this awkward Jerry Springer nightmare.>>
“Did they ever even *show* Jerry Springer in England?”
<<...you realise people all over the world have had access to YouTube for, like, ten years now, right?>>

AU where Jess was an X-Man all along
send me a fandom and i’ll give you five headcanons of my muse in that universe || accepting
If Jessica Drew had been born a mutant much of her origin would be the same, where the High Evolutionary experimented on her with the X-Gene and erasing much of her memories. After being freed of her stasis, Magneto, looking for his children, would find her. She would work for the Brotherhood, only switching sides under Mystique. After seeing what Rogue had done to Carol Danvers, she would save Carol and leave the team.
Jessica would eventually lose her powers on M-Day, but would regain them after being replaced by Skrull Queen Veranke during the Skrull Invasion, although she lost her ability to fly.
She would remain with Scott Summers on Utopia with the Extinction Team until the Phoenix Force conflict, where she would then be a staff member at the Jean Grey School, however she would take is side during the first conflict with the Inhumans.
She now returned to the Xavier School and tries to teach to the best of her ability. She’s in charge of students who’ve graduated, teaching them more combat skills but also to be independent of school or each other.
Her closest friends are Logan Howlett, Kitty Pryde, Illyana Rasputin, and Ororo Munroe.

“Katya, there you are. I have been looking all over the school for you, there’s something I wanted to talk to you about.” Piotr had gotten through talking with his sister - a long time coming, that conversation - about the status of his own love life, coming to terms with his own sexuality, coming to terms with her sexuality...eventually, of course, learning that his sister and his ex were now romantically involved. “I hope I’m not interrupting anything.”
