Cutest, sweetest, most cuddliest boy in the whole world

Nearly every night, we have the following routine:

I attend the Ablutions (aka I brush my teeth, etc.)

I take the Boy out for his bedtime pee

Get my bedtime water

Give all the kids their bedtime treats. Boy gets dentastix and a pill pocket with his arthritis medicine and the cats get greenies

Get in bed and set my alarms

Horatio, my tiny creamsicle man, runs off into the bathroom and proceeds to cry piteously like I personally abandoned him there. He does this until he either figures out how to get out of the bathroom, he finishes yelling into the void, or I get tired of him doing that and yell at him to cut it out and come to bed

I mess around on my phone until the melatonin kicks in

I am begging for someone to explain why he does this

Why do I have a giant pile of pillows in the corner of my bedroom, you ask?

He was sulking because I wouldn't let him steal chicken right out of my mouth

We moved Thanksgiving to today and I had my mom, brother, and SIL over for a super lowkey get together and somebody is mad I brought strangers (aka people he has known his entire life) into our domicile and has finally decided it's safe enough to surface

I thought for a second that I wish I could switch places with him, that I could be napping on a pillow and he would be dealing with the payroll crisis but the thought of this sweet angel dealing with the stress I am currently experiencing upset me so much I immediately took it back

We've never had carpet before. I think he likes it.
