Continued from here! (( @horizon--bounty ))
Ah. Summer. Her LEAST favorite season. Raychel never did well in the blistering heat of this time of year, preferring to stay inside either her nice, air conditioned house or car and get some productive work done. Fortunately, her Epithet made it easy to maintain a nice, chilly temperature around her, but that took STAMINA, so it forced her to take an early lunch break.
Crime never takes a break, though, as she spies a group of suspicious individuals huddle into an alleyway from her seat outside the diner she stopped by.
Well. Time to do her goddamn job.
[ CONTINGENCY ACTIVATED. 4 HOSTILES. 1 CIVILIAN. INITIATING COMBAT PROTOCOLS. ]
After being on the front lines for quite a few months, Raychel could afford to push the limits of her ‘non-combat inclined’ Epithet status. Thus, restraint was effective and simple.
The person who had been in front of Juane would suddenly glow red and inexplicably SHOT up at least 20 feet in the air by some mysterious unseen force. It’s a bit of a blur from there as they turn their attention from their prey towards her.
One’s tossed over her shoulder, the other’s head is SLAMMED into the wall with that same mysterious force, and the last one tries to make a grab for the civilian--but they don’t even get close as they’re YANKED back by their scruff and CRUSHED against the wall. The others follow suit, with the one in the air getting SLAMMED down back to earth and joining them. A flick of her wrist and the gravity around them SHIFTS, pressure forcing them there. Something CRACKS, and it was hard to tell if that was the wall or bones.
“You are all under arrest for assault. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law...” And on she drones as she clicks on Eraser Cuffs on all of them for good measure. Never know if any of them were Inscribed, after all.
When all that is finally said and done, it’s THEN that Raychel finally turns around. For a moment...her expression is blank and thoughtful.
And then it shifts to a more professional one, albeit clearly concerned.
“I apologize you had to see that, ma’am. I didn’t want to risk harm should any of them had been Inscribed.” She flicks her badge on her jacket. “Don’t worry, I’m with the SJPD. Are you injured in any way?”
