The missing girl part 30 - The silence was broken by a low metallic ringing in the air...it brought with it a sense of dread. As if under a spell or perhaps a curse since their tragic day - Lisa Bennett and Anna Grey both opened their eyes at the same time. The window in Anna's room flew wide open letting a terrible cold gush of air inside that carried a cry. It sounded like the voice of her poor sister Hannah. Could if really have been ? In horror she stared at the ceiling feeling the madness grow within. Children of Camp Blood (2020)⁠

⁠In the final installment (so far) of the Camp Blood series, we completely get rid of the sexual abuse/incest plot! Big fan of that! Children of Camp Blood picks up where Ghost of Camp Blood left off! ⁠

⁠It's a lot of fun. And honestly, this whole series was. Some of the films were....bad, but that's okay! I think I still liked them, and each one added something to the series. Good times, I recommend them. ⁠

Alright! Camp Blood 5 was a big step up from Camp Blood 4 and I’m much happier after watching this one. Camp Blood 5 wasn’t great, but it was so much better than its predecessor that I’m pretty high on it right now. I figured I should write this up while in a good mood to counteract the super pissy blurb on Camp Blood 4.

Boy, there were still a lot of flashbacks and TV watching! In fact, over half an hour of Camp Blood 5 is footage from other films. But it works a whole lot better here. At the beginning of CB5, we see a bit more of Camp Blood 4, but it’s just enough to catch folks up on what happened. Nothing too wild. That's followed by two 15 - 18ish minute blocks where we're watching other films. And I know that sounds like a lot (it is) but it worked for me.

During the first block of footage, Raven and her mother are having a movie night to help take her mind of all that clown bullshit. They watch parts of two films: Things and Meathook Massacre. The latter is another film that Dustin Ferguson directed, and one I’ll definitely have to check out. I’m totally cool with Ferguson promoting another one of his films in CB5 because the story in Meathook Massacre resembles Raven’s real-life horrors. I dug that. The block of flashbacks occurs when Raven is attending a therapy session. Is it long? Yes. Does it make sense? Absolutely! It was a great way to rehash the events of Camp Blood 4 in a way that made Raven an even more sympathetic character. I dug that, too. Also, her therapist is a twat, so seeing less of him was a gift.

I enjoyed seeing more of Raven’s loved ones, too. It’s clear they’re worried about her and aren’t sure what they can do to help. They’re victims too, albeit on a much smaller scale, but this clown asshole’s actions have ruined a lot of lives. Also, Raven has two pretty kick-ass friends who go out of their way to help her.

Camp Blood 5 has the fewest new kills from any of the previous films, but it’s cool because they used that time to let the audience get to know Raven a bit better. It also made the ending that much more satisfying.

Oh! Holy shit! Raven has a god damn arsenal of blades! No wonder she was cool going back to the woods.
