lcfremont It’s October!🎃 That means it’s time for #horrorsistersscaresandshares2023 . I have the honor of showcasing Home Invasion films. This is my personal favorite sub genre of horror and I’m excited to dive in.💜 I decided to kick off by sharing some of the more mainstream entries: kind of the household name films of home invasion, if you will. 🏠When A Stranger Calls is so iconic, that even people who haven’t seen the film still know the line, “Have you checked on the children?” Not a superb film, but it deserves it’s recognition if only because it inspired the opening of Scream.☎️ The Last House on the Left isn’t Wes Craven’s best film, but it is his first and, for my money, it’s an uncomfortable film for various reasons, but Sadie is a viscous female character that we rarely see in films.🦷 The Strangers is what most people think of when you mention Home Invasion: masked strangers terrorizing an isolated home. It makes you wonder what you would do if you were in the situation and when the strangers explain why they’re doing it, it’s absolutely bone chilling.💍 The Purge is polarizing, but it deserves to be recognized because it spawned a successful franchise and a two season television show. And let’s be real: we’ve all thought about what we would or wouldn’t do in a Purge.💐Hush is a great, little thriller that relies on the stellar performance of Kate Siegel and she nails it.
