(please note that some shrines hold their festivities on the first horse day in March) Inari Shrines across Japan hold an Hatsu uma festival usually takes place on this day. The benefits of visiting an Inari Shrine is originally to pray for a rich harvest. However it is now not only for praying for a good harvest but also it is supposed to bring various happiness, such as prosperity in business, healing of illness and general good luck. The foxes at a Inari Temple wait to take your messages to the gods.
