I wonder how this wiki thing is going to work because she's so adamant about people not figuring out how the game mechanics work. I will assume it is just a transplant of the current game guide and not actually a user contribution wiki.

Getting back into playing Horse Eden after a few weeks hiatus.  I decided to  start fresh and only keep horses rated triple-Premium or better (sorry Superb horses, you were so pretty but apparently nobody wants you).  Then I said, "I want to breed blue roan thoroughbreds like I originally planned!"  Then I realized all the good ones for sale are too damned expensive.  So I looked for ones that might produce blue roan (black crossed with blue or something like that).  They are also too expensive.

Mother of gawwd.  Or Mother of Equus, I guess.  Why is it so hard to get ahead in this game.  I'm always so intimidated by the forums too, everyone there is an elite breeder with experience with real-life horses and I'm like DURR HURR, pretty poneez.

Horse Eden

Well, last month I caved in and joined Horse Eden Eventing.  Yep, yet another animal sim game to waste time, yaaaay!  XD  That joins the list of Flight Rising, Lioden, Felisfire and Valenth (although Valenth is more of an adoptables site, and is still the one I've been playing the longest).

But actually, Horse Eden is not a very time-consuming site, relatively speaking.  The goal is to breed and train horses for eventing (dressage, cross-country, show jumping, etc) and most stable activities roll over once a week rather than daily, unless you enroll in daily showings.  So it's a long-term game, and also something you can not log into for a few days if need be, which is great for people with less time on their hands (like me these days).

It does take some get getting used to, though.  When I first signed up I was so overwhelmed by the complexity in horse stats, payment of riders (yeah, you gotta hire riders to train your horses for you) that I groaned and didn't log in again for two weeks.  But when I was ready to try again, I didn't want to let such pretty artwork go to waste.  I mean look:

Just a handful of horses from my stable, showing off each of the four breeds that have been redrawn with updated art, the Sport Horse, Warmblood, Irish Sport Horse, and Thoroughbred.  And of course they come in a wide variety of colors (I seem to like Blue Roan and Apricot).  There are some other breeds with the old art that are in progress, so I can't wait to see the updates!

The major goal is training and leveling up for the three events of showing, and of course I have no idea what I'm doing.  I'll say now that I'm NOT a horsey person at all, even though I love watching horses I never trained or rode any horse in my life, and I'm a complete noob even on this site.  Yesterday I bought a bunch of cheap geldings to train and was like BUY ALL THE HORSES!!  Will this investment pay off?  Maybe not, but it was super fun.  One day my stable will be amazing.
