"Lord Takumi! My sincerest apologies for not making time to greet you sooner than this." Saizo bows low, not looking up at the younger prince. He hasn't spent any time with Takumi since he'd arrived, barely any with Sakura or Azama.. And he'd run into Tsubaki quite a few times as well. He feels like he could have made more of an effort. They may not be in the same group for this expedition but should the other allow it, he can devote some more of his time to Takumi in the future.
"It seems you've been getting along well." Was that okay to assume? The ninja's back straightens and he spends another moment taking in the other's appearance. From what he could tell, nothing seemed out of place. "Should you need anything for the remainder of the voyage, please feel free to call on me."
It came as no surprise that just as Ryoma had decided to join the voyage, so too had Saizo. A small part of him, remembering Tsubaki's name on the roster and catching glimpses of Azama around the monastery, thought: when can I see my retainers again?, but Takumi pushed the thought away (it's not like he was helpless without them!) and nodded as Saizo bowed.
"It's fine," he said, because he didn't mind. "Ryoma's your main priority. And thanks, I'll keep that in mind."
There sure were a lot of people offering him help, huh.
