This lady came up to me at the host stand to cancel a reservation and I tried to direct her to our guy who had the reservation list and she just gave me this look that clearly said
“I am not going to go to him and you’re going to cancel my reservation right now.”
so I just grabbed a pen and got the name of the reservation. Then I told the guy that her reservation was cancelled, which took about three seconds.
Honestly, rude people never cease to amaze me.
Kids these days
Sometimes...I just really hate customers.
More ranting about being a hostess. People get so mad when I tell them that we don’t have any tables available and we can only take reservations.
I’d like to know exactly what they want me to do. Do they want me to go in the dining room and throw out a group that had a reservation? Do they want me to cancel other people’s reservations and seat them instead?
Sorry that other people thought ahead and you didn’t. Don’t get mad at me because you didn’t make a reservation.
So the power went out at the hotel last night, and the hosts got yelled at a bunch of times because we couldn’t do take out or walk ins in the dining room.
There’s nothing quite like having a lady lean over the counter and tell me angrily “I pay three hundred dollars a night to stay here.” I mean, okay. IDK what she expected me to say to that. Maybe she was under the impression that I could magically make the power come back on so we could serve her.
I get that it’s a frustrating situation, but yelling at the employees is not gonna fix anything.
Why all my coworkers want to go out and get drunk when we work the breakfast shift the next day, I’ll never know.
