Quite the spiel he’d overheard upon his ghoul’s return home, detailing a certain thorn that had proven nearly impossible to remove.  Considering that could be...literally anybody in this God forsaken city, curiosity won over, and Naoki gave specifics, Damian couldn’t help but laugh.  Malkavians - it’s always Malkavians that drive people up the wall.  By this point, Damian would have thought the man would have grown accustomed to their presence and varying brands of depravities, but clearly there was something about this one that had crawled under his skin, to the point he couldn’t simply let go of annoyances and instead let it fester into straight up dislike.

In a way, he understands.  All the guest appearances this Kindred had made at the Chantry had gotten to him, too, but thus far he’d seemed relatively harmless.  More or less.  And, after wards were tripped during the last visit, Damian can’t imagine there will be many more in the future, at least not without some announcement preceding it. 

....one can hope, anyway.

Violence and Treachery from the sinful asks meme?

VIOLENCE - A time my muse attacked someone unprovoked or without reason.

For all the bad things he has done in the past, he actually hasn't attacked anyone entirely unprovoked, verbal or physical. On the rare occasion he actually goes off on someone, there is always a reason, and for the most part, it takes a lot. Damian is a fairly laid back individual, usually letting things roll off his shoulders, but even so, it is not impossible to drive him to the point of actually attacking somebody. It might take a lot, but it can happen. And just like everyone else, some days that is easier to achieve than others. He's got pissy moods as much as anybody, and yes, those are the days when he very well might attack somebody, but it would still take something to spark that fire.

TREACHERY - A time my muse betrayed someone after building up a relationship.

Now, this is more Damian's style. 

 While he does have some relationships that are legitimate - ones he actually cares about, makes efforts in/for, and continues to build as time ticks on - there are a number that were built for the sole purpose of betrayal. If he sees something in a person that might be used as blackmail later, if he gains information he needs and has no further use for the one in question, if he already knows a dirty little secret and plays the part of a caring friend and ally only to gather as much Intel as possible before he turns that "friend" over and reaps the benefits - it's all a game to him, deciding who is worth his time and who is worth only whatever he might gain. And in a hundred-plus years, he has learned to play fairly well.

As for a specific incident, there was one a few years back, when faced with a coterie and everything that has to bring with it. Along with him were four others - two Toreador, a Ventrue, and a Malkavian, and all were about the same age, same level of experience of the nightly goings-on within Kindred society, and all that jazz...with the exception of the Ventrue, Ethan. He was marginally younger than the rest, yet in the short span of his life as Kindred, he had achieved immense amounts of success, knew things he probably shouldn't (especially considering he no longer had a sire guiding him ), dabbled in questionable things and presented vast knowledge of those things, and showed a great deal of influence that...well, that part wasn't suspicious necessarily, but it did play into things later on and with further thought.

Naturally, Damian was curious what the deal was.

No one with half a brain in their skull is going to admit to their secrets to just anybody, so he played his hand carefully. As the pair worked together, they grew closer and closer, and eventually the Ventrue legitimately considered Damian a trusted ally and friend. Eventually, he spilled the beans that he had some association with another who had been guiding his hand, offering advice and resources and promises of power, and all it took was cooperation. At least, at first. It came to light that this associate, or advisor as Ethan referred to him, wasn't exactly...well, let’s just say he dabbled in a bit of infernalism.  Which is, of course, a big no-no.  Ethan kept it quiet, telling only a couple of his closest and most trusted companions - Damian included.  Damian kept his mouth shut about it for a short period of time, solely to gather as much information about this person as Ethan was willing to share.  Where exactly the guy was located was of specific interest, and once he had that, Damian and his Nosferatu friend (one of those actual friends for whom he’d burn a city down, if the need ever arose) took care of two problems:  they went after the infernalist and anyone else sharing his nest, and also staked Ethan out on a rooftop to wait for the sunrise.

This was an extreme and well-deserved example, and the latter is not always true when Damian opts to “switch sides”.  Hell, he has turned on people he’s built relationships with just to prove a point in the past, but the above was a more recent instance.

ASMR: is there any noise your muse can’t stand?

Like so many of his kin, Damian has a particular preference for city dwelling, and he does tend to gravitate towards the very center if possible, so needless to say, he has grown rather numb and accustomed to a wide variety of sounds that might have others tearing their hair out.  Traffic, people yelling, kids screaming at a park (or next door in an apartment building), loud music, brakes screeching, construction - nine times out of ten, he can tune it all out.  The big stuff is easy to ignore.  It’s the little things that actually make his skin crawl.

The one noise he absolutely hates - hates, as in, it has a visceral effect on him and may elicit a physical response (a subtle cringe, for example) - is a fork, or other utensil of similar composition, scraping on glass.  It’s rare that he’ll hang around places where this would stand out; a noisy bar or club is a frequent haunt, and that is quite a different environment than, say, a restaurant, where it’s quieter and those noises will stand out.  

Car alarms are one of the few “city sounds” that start bugging him after a time; people biting their nails will drive him nuts in no time flat.  

And finally, last on the list of “most annoying sounds”:  microphone feedback.  This one is fairly unavoidable, considering he spends a fair amount of time in the club he’s partnered with, where amateur bands and karaoke singers are common and don’t always realize how microphones work --

TRY NOT TO LAUGH: how’s your muse’s sense of humor? are they serious, or is it easy for them to laugh at even the worst jokes?

There is a time and place for seriousness.  In those times, he can absolutely be deathly serious, but on his own, Damian is absolutely the guy who will be snickering at the stupidest jokes known to mankind, or telling them in an attempt to get someone else laughing.  His sense of humor is fairly dark, occasionally sarcastic, and laugh at life.  Random occurrences can be phenomenally funny, and cracking a joke about more serious issues can help one step back and focus to overcome them - at least, in his experience.  ​

For this one, I’ve always been a little torn between a few different songs, but finally I was able to settle on one in particular.  When Damian enters any sort of confrontation, physical or otherwise, he does so with an air of calm to focus solely on the situation laid out before him and try to plan his advance.  He starts slow, testing the waters, and refuses to show his hand, so to speak, until he finds that one opportune moment to go for the throat - literally or figuratively.  Even his offense is methodical, with clear flow and minimal wasted movement and/or effort...and the song that best conveys that is Breathe by ZABO.

Honestly, if someone were to drag him out for karaoke, there aren’t too many songs he wouldn’t be willing to touch, though if given the choice, he’d lean towards songs like Set Me on Fire by Flyleaf or World on Fire by Daughtry.

Or, he might play at humor and pick I Put a Spell on You.  

It really depends.

lol I always feel awkward sharing headcanons on the dash. Not that I don’t have any. I’d rather just write them in threads or talk about them privately than post lists. I know that’s not a popular position here.

how many pets do you own? if none, what kind of animals do you like?

I have no pets, and though I’d like to adopt a dog, I realistically have no room for one where I live right now. A cat would be nice, too. The issue is that I’m allergic to both so I’d have to find breeds that won’t send me into a sneezing fit.

I mention it here on occasion when I need to disappear for long stretches of time, but I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Applied Linguistics. Language is sexy.

I have three older sisters, who have collectively given me 13 nieces and nephews. I have a very active family.
