Here's the deal:

I don't know how many of our members have seen my post in our OOC blog, but it's been there for a few days, so please check it out if you haven't yet. In short, I'll be closing Heart of the City sometime during the first week of June, as the stresses of roleplaying and being an admin right now are too much to handle in addition what's going on in my life offline. As I've said in the OOC blog, this decision was not made with any negative influence from our members. I've just simply burned myself out over the past few years of little success. It will be up to the members if they want to either wrap up their characters and end with the roleplay (as I will be doing, and I believe Blaine, as well), or continue on in a new group or 1x1s.

Now, it should also be noted for anyone that stumbles across this page that I will no longer be accepting any more characters. The application has been removed, and the submit box has been disabled. We're closing in one month, so advertising seems pretty pointless now.

For our members, please note that I will not be monitoring activity strictly from now on. I am moving out of state on my own next week, and this roleplay will not be on the forefront of my mind throughout the next month. If you want to stay active and post while we're still open, that's entirely up to you. I'm not going to shout at people to post or send out inactivity warnings, but I'm not going to hold it against you if you just want to leave, either. Instead of constantly keeping up with activity every night, if I log on and see that you've been gone for four days, I will simply unfollow you. And please know that I'm not trying to be threatening in any way with this post-- I'm just trying to be certain that we're all on the same page!

Basically, my life will be hectic and I won't have time to log on here more than once or twice per day until we close (nor may I even want to be online more honestly, taking such a big step in my life), so I'm not going to hold it against you if you aren't, either. Just know that four days is still our limit.

Also, bio updates are not required any longer, but you can still submit them to me, if you'd like to anyway. Thank you!

Happy (belated) Six Months!

On the 28th of March (last Thursday), Heart of the City hit it's six month mark, which made it only the second out of the six roleplays I've started to do so. This is absolutely incredible, and I want to thank all of you for sticking with me and helping to keep up this wonderful little corner of Tumblr. We've had a lot of trouble in the past keeping up members and have had very busy lives that caused often a (reasonable!) lack of activity all around that would have undoubtedly killed any other roleplay. But you guys have stuck around and have been dedicated despite a small amount of members, and even though I may seem really strict and ungrateful in some admin messages, please know that that is not the case at all! I've never been surrounded with such a mature, talented, and respectful group of people, and I hope that we can still be together for six more months, and beyond. =)

In other news, starting now and stretching on until tomorrow and possibly the day after, you'll notice changes to the sidebar picture and character bio pages. I'm just about finished with the graphics, and I'll be adding them to pages as I make progress. I'll also start queuing ads tomorrow night, so hopefully we'll be able to gain some new members soon!

I've received bio updates from Santana and Brittany, but Finn and Blaine have assured me that they'll get theirs in no later than tomorrow, and Quinn will be away for two weeks so I might have to wait until the next update for hers. So, it seems like we're on top of things! Thanks a bunch, everyone!

The admin has returned!

I'll be doing my best to finish up graphics and advertise by April 1st, and then hopefully we can get some new members in here.

You know what's also due on April 1st? That's right: Bio updates! If you all could send those in before Monday, I'd really appreciate it. The usual thing to note would be to not make the updates excessively detailed, but only whatever's necessary to get the plot additions across and understood.

Quinn Fabray is now on a semi-hiatus.

She will be posting, though activity will be lessened.

The admin will be busy throughout the week.

As such, I will not be on the admin account as much, and nor will I regularly be checking up on activity. If at the end of the week (or whenever I'm finished with work) I look at your account and see that you've been slacking in that regard, I will send you a message about it. I do hope that I can trust you all to keep up with that, though. And I will be popping in 1-2 times per day on Kurt's account, but just note that organizing this account and queuing ads will take a backseat for a bit.

Some updates:

Due to our roleplay (and possibly Glee itself) transitioning into a New York/Northeast setting after graduation and difficulty in filling the roles in the past, I've removed Marley, Kitty, Ryder, and Jake from the character list. If we were ever lucky enough to fill even all of their roles, they'd be the only ones in Lima while the rest of the roleplay was busy elsewhere, and that doesn't make for a fun experience for those players. After graduation (around June), we'll shift into a graduate-centric roleplay.

I've set the date for McKinley High's Senior Prom to be on May 4th at 7pm EST. Our senior class president can start brainstorming ideas for a theme whenever he'd like!

Louisville and Yale are now on Spring break. NYADA's begins at the end of next week, while McKinley's isn't until the end of the month. As usual, all important dates can be found on the calendar page.

I've also briefly updated the FAQ page. Keep in mind that if your answer can be found there, I will ignore it if I find it in the ask box.

Regionals results:

The winners of the competition were the New Directions, from William McKinley High School in Lima, Ohio; performing set list consisting of Try by Pink and then Tonight, Tonight by Hot Chelle Rae. The judges were moved by their first song, and then were out of their seats dancing during the second!

The runners-up were the Warblers, hailing from Dalton Academy in Westerville, Ohio. The Warblers sang very good renditions of Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen and then Drive By by Train, and the judges enjoyed both songs but felt that they were lacking the bit of depth that the New Directions displayed.

In a shocking last place finish for the first time in recorded history comes Vocal Adrenaline, in their home at Carmel High School in Akron, Ohio. Visibly floundering and desperate without the coaching of Shelby Corcoran or Jesse St. James, they performed a medley of songs from the Broadway musical, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark. Some group members got tangled in 'flight' and others slipped on the silly string that was being shot out from their gloves, and the whole performance ended up a major embarrassment that will surely be talked about for years to come.

Regionals is tomorrow!

The competition will take place in Akron, Ohio, at Carmel High School. The New Directions will be performing first at 11am EST, so they would need to be at McKinley and have boarded the bus by 7:00am EST in order to make the 2 1/2 hour drive to Akron with time left for a possible stop and getting ready once they've arrived at Carmel High. They will be followed by the Dalton Academy Warblers at 11:30, and then by Carmel High's own Vocal Adrenaline at noon.

The New Directions will be performing:

Try (by Pink) -- soloists in a duet: Blaine Anderson, Marley Rose 

Tonight Tonight (by Hot Chelle Rae) -- soloists in a group number: Sam Evans, Brittany Pierce, Jake Puckerman

The set lists of the other competitors, as well as the results of the competition, will be revealed at 1pm EST.
