It seemed her companion had left her-- intent on finding exactly the right location in which to watch the fireworks display. Whatever that could mean, beyond that it has somewhat to do with wizards, and therefore Tauriel had no opportunity to have seen them until now.
However, this left her with naught to do for some unknown period of time, and she wandered the grounds, eventually coming upon a ballroom that seemed to be sectioned off with quite the line of people waiting. The makeup of those seemed to be mainly of children, but there were enough adults disappearing into the screened-off section that the she-elf’s curiosity was piqued.
“I wonder if you could please tell me what is happening over there?”
She asked a man idling nearby, and pointed to the only clue-- a sign marked with the words “Santa Claus”. These words meant little, and she could not even guess whether it was a place, or a object, or a name.
