The fact that in the two scenes they share their youth they are unaware of each other's gaze on them, totally oblivious. But in chapter 8 we see them exchange glances for the first time and their expressions change completely. Helaena's expression, who was totally stressed out by her prophecy, changes, and we see Aemond look at her in a way we've never seen him look at another person. And this is the first time we see that their exchange is reciprocal.
