Ways the Team Finds Out About Hotch and Emily

(aka Hotch and Emily are dumb af and they wouldn’t be able keep their relationship secret for long)

Ending a call with: “okay, be safe. I love you.”

Hotch bending over and Emily lightly slapping his ass... in front of the whole team

Emily telling Garcia and JJ she can’t hang out with them because she’s with her boyfriend... and then an hour later send them a cute pick of Jack

Kissing each other goodbye

Call the other “baby” to get their attention

Spending the night in each-other's hotel rooms, grabbing the wrong blazer, and running into another team member with one arm in a blazer that’s either way too small or way too big. 

Something going wrong and they run to each other first

Hotch kissing Emily’s forehead

Neither of them telling Jack that Daddy and Emmys sleep overs are a secret so he happily tells Dave about how much fun it is having her over

The way Emily’s voice breaks when Hotch gets shot-- it’s a harrowing sound

When they fall asleep on the jet-- Hotch’s arm around her shoulders and her head on his chest

Emily holding Hotch as tight as she can, whispering in his ear as his body shakes-- the world lost to the both of them, neither sees Reid shut the door to give them privacy

Hotch smiles when she’s around

She’s the only person who can make fun of Hotch and get away with it

He starts to laugh at work

“Is that... Why do you smell like Hotch?” or “Why do... Hotch, why do you smell like Emily?”

A “I almost lost you” kiss

A “please don’t ever scare me like that again” kiss

Emily taking Hotch’s coffee out of his hand as he’s speaking and taking a sip of it, thinking nothing of it

Emily and JJ sharing a room and Emily wearing one of Hotch’s old shirts to bed but JJ knows for a fact that she’s seen that shirt before

Hotch looks healthier. The bags under his eyes start to go away. He starts smiling more. One of Reid’s jokes actually makes him laugh.

Getting bad news and reaching for each other

The way neither think before touching the other, just drawing energy from being close

The lipstick stain on Hotch’s collar

Leaning against each other when they’re standing

Bickering about everything and slipping up with “don’t play high and mighty with me, you can’t even pick where to go for dinner”

Waking up in the hospital and asking for the other

Fighting tooth and nail to be the one that accompanies the other on the ambulance ride to the hospital 

Falling asleep by the other’s side. Hands intertwined, too tired to worry what the other’s might think about their proximity. 

The way the static fades across the radios, a final breathless “I love you” before the other’s gut wrenching sobbing makes everything inaudible.
