This is the face of one dog tired hot mess mama! Few know the emotional rollercoaster I have been on in 2017. Fewer know the events of the past week and the past 24 hours. Parenting is rough. Adulting is rough. Life is ridiculously complicated; every time I think the dust may be mildly settling, another storm appears. As a responsible parent, we do our best to be a rock for our kids. The weight of that responsibility can be a bittersweet burden at times. Are we doing things “right”? I wish there was an easy cookie cutter answer for that question. I really do. I find myself questioning EVERYTHING all the time. Analyzing prior events and decisions, wondering if a different approach or attitude or {enter other words that my tired mind cannot formulate here} would lead to different outcomes. As if THAT is not tiresome enough… we are dealing with human beings. They have thoughts and feelings that are all their own that we do not always get at times. They will do things that make us wonder “what the heck were you thinking?!” They will fill us with overwhelming pride and love, then turn around and scare the living poop out of us! They can make us laugh or lead us to break down and cry into our pillows. We worry about them; are they safe? Are they happy? We want the best for them, to give them more than we had growing up. We guide them the best we can to help them to become their own mature and responsible, loving selves when they reach adulthood. We do all of this while also battling our own struggles in life; bills, work, relationships, juggling responsibilities, etc. etc. etc. Being responsible for the lives of others comes at a very high price. The reward of loving another and having them love you back? PRICELESS Keep on trucking #hotmessmamas #wegotthis #keepitreal #motherofteens #SingleMomLife #singleworkingmom
