in all seriousness though ty ty and happy to see you back, I've missed you :) and as for updates, I honestly have no idea when the next part will be out (full transparency, I haven't even really started it yet)
But!! It will be out!!! eventually. Once I figure it out. Which will happen at some point.
If you don't mind me asking, how would your different aus treebark react to each other? Like the Wolf treebark reacting to Gigacorp au and so on. I just thought it'd be fun to think about.

Gigacorp Martyn and One Piece Martyn would haaaaaaaaate The Wolf Martyn, at least the Martyn from the beginning of the story--but they still wouldn't like him much towards the end lol; Gigacorp Ren and The Wolf Ren would be buddies :)
HOTP treebark could get along with any of them I feel like (diplomats they are)
Gigacorp Ren specifically would be really uncomfortable around all of them, but try to hide it (he's not great with violence and would be super uncomfy in the presence of someone who's killed people before)
One Piece Martyn would be BEST friends with Gigacorp Martyn--anarchy bros :D
today on ren's trauma in the death department is plot relevant--JOEL! Last chapter of lady in the lake is out now!!!!!! (finally....)
I think my favorite thing about HOTP is Ren and Martyn's dynamic. Everybody calls Martyn Ren's dog in this story, but it's also the other way around and I loooooovvveeee expanding on that. Martyn would kill and die for him, but so would Ren. Ren is so ready and willing to kill someone or throw himself in front of a blade (or a spell..) for Martyn's sake.
Their dynamic with one another, by the way...is going to be very important to the ending of the story......in ways I can't elaborate on yet hehe
you all will be happy to know i have officially broken through the brick wall that was chapter 3 of lady in the lake and have finally made good progress on it and will be posting it as soon as its finished the first half is so shit but i got through that and now we're on to the second half which is the conversation that is the whole reason this chapter exists
i finished the first chapter of the gigacorp au i am unstoppable (ch 3 of lady in the lake looms over me like an ever present reminder of my own inconsistencies and inner turmoil)
...should i post it or not though is the real question
