Obikin and Anidala will always be tragic ships, because neither Padmé nor Obi-Wan, singularly, had the power to fix all of Anakin Skywalker's issues. Which is why they should have tagged team him.

The children love it when their dad manages to escape Emperor Palpatine to visit them, but Obi-Wan, on the other hand, feels he's getting too old to handle three chaotic Skywalkers.

I think one the bases of my Obianidala enjoyment is that they're all competent in their own ways, and they all have competency kinks~

Padme: Will absolutely murder (verbally) a corrupt politician, and be 100% polite while doing it. She got a taste for solving mysteries, and will actively seek out Nefariousness at work so she can expose it. She once uncovered a scheme to embezzle millions in funds from a charity for persons displaced by the war, and it was in the news by the end of the week. The only thing stopping her from doing undercover work is that she's really recognizable. Obi-wan and Anakin come home from a mission like, "???? We've only been gone three days???"

Obi-wan: Can, and has, charmed the pants off more Sith than the Council would like to admit. They turn a blind eye because, honestly, they're the ones who sent him to all of those diplomacy and negotiation classes; they can hardly complain that he's excelling at de-escalation now! Once he's with Anakin and Padme the Sith/etc pantsing becomes a little more subtle, but they're still in awe of the fact that he can come home the next day, hardly disheveled at all, with the plans to some Separatist operation that's been in the works for months. (Padme has very fond memories of the time Anakin was so worked up he said, "Alright, old man, pretend I'm a Sith! De-escalate me! I bet you won't!")

Anakin: He's always dealt with the Force being a very overwhelming thing, and he doesn't always realize just how connected to his environment it makes him. More than once he's entered a location and immediately been like, "Heh, those two over there are both planning to propose to each other. 50 credits says they get down on one knee at the same time." Or, "Whoops, ok, definitely a bomb in the basement. Padme, can you get everyone out?" ("Ani, this is a grocery store???" "I know, weird, right?")

I just love them being equals and in awe of each other~

As far as physical attraction goes:

Padme: Obviously thinks Obikin are beautiful and is secretly very smug about the fact that she's tempted two laser sword monks. She would feel guilty except there's a war on, and thinks it's a little hypocritical for the Order to be ok with violence but draw the line at romance.

Obi-wan: Is, to be clear, not old at all, lol. But sometimes he does feel old, and is a little surprised that these two beautiful young people decided to invite him. He's not complaining though! Especially not when they ask him, eager and energetic, what position they should try next.

Anakin: Is fully in disbelief that the two most beautiful people in the universe both decided they want him. He's demi, and is a little suspicious that the Force delivered, (one time literally with bows on, he still gets misty eyed thinking about that), the only two people he could see himself falling in love with, right to him.

oh the obidala affair crumbs.... actually criminal that they trashed that storyline and that's left are little nods like this. in my head this is the beginning of obianidala tragic fully requited love triangle that just can't get their shit together at the same time !!!!
