When's Frisk's birthday, do you think? Do they ever celebrate it?
It’s September 28th—but they couldn’t tell you that!
Frisk celebrated their birthday a handful of times when they were younger—if it fell on a convenient date while they were at a foster home. But they were moved around so frequently that the day itself was often overlooked.
They never really had a big party, but sometimes their foster parent at the time would get them a small cake or dinner, and maybe a toy. (Though toys were quickly lost in the shuffle of moving homes.)
Their sixth birthday was the first one they celebrated with Gaster… and the last. They were living with Mr. K at the time, and so they spent the day with him and Gaster. (Who Mr. K believed to be an imaginary friend.)
T’was a good day for Mr. K, so he took Frisk to the zoo, and out to eat, and bought them a small toy. A stuffed giraffe.
(As a Note- I retconned out the “Frisk never had a stuffed animal” line a while back cuz it didn’t work for the backstory I wanted them to have.)
But after that, when Frisk ran away, they no longer were able to keep track of the days. Gaster himself has a… decently wobbly grasp on time (and sanity) and so he couldn’t keep track either.
So Frisk’s 7th and 8th birthdays passed without note, and they’ve completely forgotten the day at this point. (Gaster could probably tell you, but, well… he doesn’t exist, does he? ;) )
They guess their age based on the season - it’s sometime in fall.
As a note, they JUST turned 8 before they fell! It was fall when they fell. So it will be a while yet until we hit their birthday! …which is good, because neither Papyrus or Sans have remembered to ask yet 🤦
(In their defense, they are a bit preoccupied trying to figure out how to help Frisk with their Trauma™️)
As of this point in the story (chapter 25), it’s been around 5 months since Frisk fell.
