About 1.5hrs from where we are staying, is the Hottentots Holland Nature Reserve which forms part of the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The scenery is breathtaking and is very reminiscent of Scotland but with better weather and no midges (Paul's words not mine!) But what brings us here is the Cape Canopy Tours which Lonely Planet declared the 2nd best new attraction in the world in 2015. There are 13 zip wires and a swing bridge, all ludicrously high up. The longest slide is 320m long and takes over 30 seconds to complete. It's hard to imagine why I of all people would put myself through this. Well as it turns out, it's because it is fantastic fun and is a cure for fear of heights. Yes folks! I loved it, we all did. You start off with your safety briefing, then a 30 minute bumpy ride (South African massage) up to the start. From there you work your way down the slides to the final longest one before a kilometre hike back to the pick up point and another bumpy ride down. We were gone over 4 hours and it went in a flash
