@houmouscat i’m not saying we shouldn’t care about reproductive rights. after all, i do co-run a blog devoted to pro-choice politics...
i’m simply asking people to replace the word “women” with “pregnant people” when discussing reproductive rights. this makes these discussions more inclusive and safer for trans people - who, by the way, compose an estimated 0.3% of the US population, which is about 100,000 people in the US alone.
however, if i can change my language slightly to make one person feel safer and more included, that’s worth it to me. if hundreds of thousands of people doesn’t make it worth it for you, so be it. i’m not going to force you to say one thing over another, but i would hope you won’t infringe on /my/ right to ask people to use more inclusive language.
