The thing I notice the most about your art are your eyes! They are always so bright and nice. As well as color, and your style of painting. It is pretty distinct to me

woah, I’m really insecure about the way I draw eyes, so it’s a relief to know some people like them that way!

thoughts on blankets and pillows in ES? What are the blanket/pillow specialties in the various provinces?? >:)c

Oooo okay so, this is really fun and something I want to try to draw more for in the future, but I’d imagine the variations between blankets and pillows throughout the provinces would be influenced greatly by what materials/crops/livestock/animals reside in each province! (Though I’m going to mostly talk about sources of fabric, since these would be used to make the blankets and pillows!)

Like I’d imagine cooler climate lush green areas like High Rock, Cyrodiil, Orsinium, and eastern parts of Hammerfell (as far as I know, eastern Hammerfell isn’t just entirely desert) would grow flax for linens and raise sheep for wool. Warmer tropical climates like Elsweyr would grow cotton and have their own livestock (I would cite BSE stuff I’ve seen that’s super gnarly, but I don’t want to do that without permission alsdfjs) Though in relation to cotton, there is the existence of tundra cotton in Skyrim, so at least in Skyrim’s case, cotton isn’t completely restricted to warmer regions.

Animal pelts would be a prominent source for blankets in regions like Orsinium, Skyrim, and especially Valenwood, ranging from bear, elk, tiger/sabre cat, and wolf. The abundance varies from regions, where Skyrim and Orsinium would probably be a mix of animal hides and plant sourced materials, whereas in Valenwood it would mostly entirely have animal pelts (unless you want to get really creative with it; I’d like to imagine little bosmers curling up in little moss beds and blankets like tiny little forest gnomes...)

Black Marsh, from what I understand, also uses animal hides that are similar to snakeskin, as a lot of fauna in the region is reptilian (at least from what I remember in Murkmire). I’m not very familiar at all with Black Marsh, so would guess they would make fabric out of weaving straw? Unless, due to its close proximity with Morrowind, they would also have ancestor silk moths?

Which speaking of Morrowind, is another tricky one due to its wildly ranging climates. The mainland cities/Hlaalu aligned and Imperial parts of southern Vvardenfell would likely have access to imports from Cyrodiil, which in turn come from different provinces. Redoran/ashlands territory would have a heavier lean towards animal skins/hides (guar, netch leather, kagouti, alit, etc) Telvanni territory being so close to the Grazelands, it’s possible that they have access to adequate lands and climate for farming raw materials, but I’d imagine they’d just import stuff from other provinces--they may be xenophobic, but I doubt they’d pass up the finest, softest silks...

I tend to make Cyrodiil an exception when it comes to in depth analysis on what they have because I always hc that because Cyrodiil and the Imperial City is the capital of Tamriel, it would essentially be a melting pot of things from all the provinces, with “Cyrodiilic” variations that are inspired by, but not exactly like the original (kind of like how asian-inspired cuisine and authentic asian cuisine aren’t the same thing)

Textiles and styles of patterns is a whole beast entirely that I’m no where near equipped to talk about, but I can attach some shitpost stuff I doodled about blankets and towels... Only two provinces because I’m not funny enough to come up with more

14.  Ingrained habits/forces of habit

Protecting/not wanting to use his left hand (the one with the scar) for anything. Also don’t know if this counts, but later on when he’s adopted by the innkeeper and given a plush bear to keep him company, he’s very gentle with it and likes to have it either sit on his shoulder or on top of his head or belly when he’s asleep, because he’s used to having a small creature on these things from when he travelled with Teeth

21. Turning points in their life

Ooof, lots of them... When he meets his friend Teeth, this is the first friend he’s ever had, and the first person to see him not as a monster but just a normal elf (Teeth’s pretty isolated so he doesn’t know the difference) However, this one good faith friendship in which he’s not judged by what he is, it becomes his motivating drive for the rest of his story to protect and/or have faith that there are others who will not be so close minded too

🍹: Hmmm this one might not be too interesting of an answer, as she’s not able to access liquors given she lives in the ashlands (nor would she be too inclined to drink, as she’s very partial to discipline) Though that does get me thinking how she’s able to access clean water, as what little water you can find in the ashlands is probably tainted with soot... She’s no mage, so I’d imagine she boils it and/or is given clean water/filters by grateful merchants she sometimes saves from cliff racer attacks

🎭: Ahh Servyn absolutely does! To most people, he’s very timid or outright avoids talking or confronting anyone. There are only a few people who he acts differently towards, though not always in the same way. With Il-Tei and Ajira, he has enough courage to ask for things and talk about how he feels without bottling anything up. At first this was out of obeying orders, in that he’d take Il-Tei asking him what’s wrong as an order to tell her what’s wrong, but now he naturally trusts her and Ajira to where he’s comfortable just talking. 

Another he acts differently towards is Julan of course, though Julan is the one person who’s managed to get him to actually argue and say no--partly because a lot of what Julan does and the trouble he gets into forces Servyn out of his shell, but a bigger part is because Julan does encourage him not to obey everything he or anyone else says, that Servyn is allowed to fight back and not listen to what anyone has to say about him. Despite Julan being the only person he argues with, he is also the only person who managed to, in some small way, help Servyn heal from a lifetime of trauma that forced him into the mindset of a servant

11. Bad or petty habits

Before meeting Johnny, V already had a habit of smoking (especially while stressed) and it got worse as she spent more time with him. This was something she picked up during her teens as it was something for her to do while bored. 

I think another bad habit is her picking up too many side-projects even though she doesn’t have the time to do all of them. She likes to fix things in her free time so she’ll latch onto anything.
