Dear Princess Luna,

It has only been a month since I have become head of the House, and already new things are afoot. Already I sense the hand of my brother, Walter, in the unfortunate acts that have left my son crippled. But, your Dark Beauty, please do not trouble your mind with such things. I am sending my nephew and his associates to deal with him with all due haste. How fitting that the fool will be brought down by his own son, the one he cast aside...

But these trivial things pale in comparison to the Great Undertaking we're about to go on. To think it was hiding so close to Ponyville itself! Perhaps it itself is the cause of Ghastly Gorge, or the Gorge opened up in protest against the ... unnatural thing itself. But work is progressing smoothly. We will build our finest Estate atop the hideous thing, cage it, and bind it into service. We have fought to hard, for too long, to let something like that back into the world. The Night Guard has been told, should we fail, of course. But I personally thank you for the trust you are entrusting to me, and indeed House Cipher itself.
