something interesting i found while rewatching scenepacks from s1-2 and what i will promtly dub forehouse coffee thing
in paternity after house catches foreman exhaused from the nightly search of the patient he offers to brew him some coffee
which raises eyebrows both from foreman and the viewer. well, at least it surprised me, since at that point in time house barely knows foreman. they solved one case together. you would think that house is laying foundation for a punchline or some snideful (probably racist) comment but
the scene is played straight! house gives foreman his coffee, foreman drinks it without any concequences for his well-being, everyone moves on with the diagnostics
later in forever, when foreman struggles with identifying shapes due to his brain damage, house once again steps in and helps him make some coffee, which includes: ripping a coffee bag with his teeth and putting a filter in place
"until you can make your own coffee, hands off the patients"
i just find it endearing that whenever foreman struggles either mentally or physically within proximity of a coffee machine, house is here to brew him a cup. these acts of care are a really subtle and interesting aspect of his character, with or without the shipping lense
