House Protection Ritual 🪄🏠

Goal: create 4 small spell jars, each corresponding to the elements and directions, and burying them around the perimeter of your house to create an energetic bubble around it (environmental concerns addressed at the end)

Ingredients:

- 4 small glass jars with metal/non-plastic lids (the great value brand spice jars work great for this)

- a bit of soil

- a rock of any sort

- any type of lead/iron/steel

- stinging nettle (sub rosemary or other protective herb)

- optional earth-related items; i used: a camel charm, cedarwood, dried mushroom

- pick any or all of the following: marjoram, sage, anise, and/or thyme

- lavender

- an owl or goose feather

- optional sword imagery or charm (cocktail swords work great)

- pick any or all of the following: basil, black pepper, garlic, rosemary, cinnamon, and/or fennel

- magick wand imagery or charm

- dragon imagery or charm

- citrine or other fire-related protective stone

- pick any or all of the following: chamomile, vanilla, violet

- white rose petals

- cup/chalice imagery or charm

- cat fur or cat imagery or charm

- 1 green candle, 1 white candle, 1 blue candle, and 1 red candle

- small shovel

Ritual:

1. Clean the jars, remove stickers, and allow to fully dry. Then, cleanse them with whatever method you prefer (I burned frankincense and let the smoke gather inside of them)

2. Hover your hands over the jars with your eyes closed and ask which of them wants to be earth, and repeat this process each time

3. To the first jar, add the soil, rock, lead/iron/steel, stinging nettle, and any additional earth-related items and charms

4. Add a piece of paper outlining the intentions for the bottle (e.g. I call upon North, the Earth element, to assist the other elements in casting a protective bubble around my address, etc.)

5. Draw the alchemical symbol for North on the lid

6. For air, repeat all the same steps but add your protective herb, stinging nettle, lavender, a feather, sword imagery, and petition

7. For fire, add protective herb, stinging nettle, wand imagery, dragon imagery, protective stone, and petition

8. For water, add protective plant, stinging nettle, rose petals, cup/chalice imagery, cat imagery, and petition

9. Arrange the red candle to the south, the blue candle to the west, the white candle to the east, and the green candle to the north, with the corresponding jars next to them

10. Burn each candle while speaking aloud your intention, using any form you like, be it a verbal charm, poetry, etc (e.g. I call upon the 4 elements to protect such and such)

11. Before the candles go out, go outside and use a small shovel to dig 4 holes at each direction around the outer perimeter of your house, and bury the corresponding jars in the holes

12. Allow the candles to fully burn down (smaller candles are best); when they are fully burned out, the protection ward is set

*Note: I am aware of the environmental concern, so be sure to dig these up to refresh after several months and remove completely when you move to a new place OR at any sign of damage to the jar itself

*Note: this is best done after a ritual cleansing bath or some other personal purification; honestly anything that gets you into a headspace where you feel safe, relaxed, and trance-like
